Crap. Only the Deftones are worth seeing. But too many sorry bands on this bill. Should be a $50 ticket at least. And have Metallica and Limp found replacements?

Agreed. I'm tired of seeing MetallicA do 90 min. shows on bills with lots of bands. When they finally started headlining big venues in the late '80s for AJFA..., and through the Black album tours, the shows were 2.5 hours, easy. Anything less after they set the precedent is kind of annoying, and means less "cool" songs because they have to play the hits.

Don't know about Limp Bizkit's new permanent guitarist, but the ones who've contributed to their record are interesting. MetallicA's new bass player is rumored around here to be former Suicidal Tendencies/Ozzy bassist Robert Trujillo.

Last time I saw Metallica was when the black album was released and they put on a great show. 2.5 hours long and it was well worth it.

I wouldn't go see Metallica again unless they played ALL old school stuff, nothing after the black album.

so will Bob Rock be the bassist or will they get bassists from other groups? Did they actually find someone?

can I go with a sign that says "I got this song on MP3"? :D

Metallica and Limp Bizkit (A band that Lars Ulrich has publicly blasted on several occasions)?? Another piece of the Metallica credibility falls away.

Were there any left?

They've got two concerts' worth of my money already. And two shirts. And, what, eight CDs? That's enough.

Long Live Napster.

Yeah he called them the Motley Crue of the 90's something like that(not ment as a complament obviously. Great statement and very accurate.

Maybe Fred Durst can come out for Metallica's encore every night, and they can end the show with a rousing rendition of "Home Sweet Home".

metallica - anti napster
limp bizkit - went on a free tour sponsored by napster.

Will they cancel the tour because of "differences"?
Will they get in a big fight during the tour?
Will everything work out ok?

Stay Tuned...

If you guys check out buddyhead.com and the album review section, check out the reviews they give for Limp Bizkit albums. Pretty spot on if you ask me.

Its funny that the guy with the only shred of musical talent has left that pudgy b.a.s.t.a.r.d. Fred Durst.

You those two choads are saying "Yo, we grew up listenin' to Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, foo." Yet, you just know they have every Metallica record. When I saw 'em in 1998, they played for about 2 hours, including a bizarre acoustic set with a butchered version of, IMHO, the best song on Kill Em All, The Four Horsemen. It's too bad I was born a little too late to see 'em in their heyday.

I'd say it's the ass clown wearing a Minor Threat shirt...yeah, you're "down" guy :/

It's a damn shame Deftones are on this bill. Seeing them grouped with crappy bands and seeing them as the headliners are two completely different experiences; mostly, crowds there to see Metallica aren't there to see Deftones.

Going with band analogies, I remember reading a great review of White Pony back a few years ago that mentioned Deftones are like the new Jane's Addiction. I'm a little too young to remember how it was when Jane's Addiction broke on to the scene, but I think the gist of it is that they will be one of those bands that every musician loves, has a smaller but incredibly loyal following, but at the same time, aren't conveniently packaged and thus will enjoy modest commercial success at best.

And good God Metallica...the band that ruined the idea that I should ever be too big a fan of any one band. Four incredible albums that go down as all time greats, but have they ever not appeared like *********************s in the past 10 years?

What did he mean by that? I read that statement and I didn’t understand it – maybe because I don’t follow Limp Biscuit closely enough to see the parallels.

I think Lard errr...Lars is NOT a big Motley fan. I think the band viewed Motley as a band that was popular, but didn't have the talent or the songs. So comparing Limp to Motley isn't the most flattering thing.
