So how pissed off is Jack gonna be next week? A bunch of people die, one of them argueably his best friend. My guess he's gonna break out that case of Whoop-Ass he's kept in the cellar for the past few years.

I kept looking forward to seeing him stab C. Thomas Howell's eye out or something last night..

I was very disappointed that Jack let him walk out of there on his own..:(

Jack's getting soft..

I'm guessing Soul Man gets taken down by Robocop next week.

Those heartwarming sports movies always have to tiptoe along the line between inspiration and utter sap-fest. Rudy fell way over that line. For my money, the best of the genre is Running Brave, which resonates with me because it is about a KU cross-country runner, which I was. Even though I'm not Lakota like Billy Mills, I like to think it is about 6 minutes away from being an autobiography, that being roughly the difference in our 10K times. Guess who was the faster one?

You should also check out Without Limits, the movie about Steve Prefontaine. Good little movie.

Toy Soldiers.I stand corrected. He's pretty badass in that one.

Oh, the 80s, we miss your movies with crazy teenage kids foiling international menace. WOLVERINES!!

I remember two Prefontaine movies coming out in the late 90's. One was simply called Pre, I think. Was the other one Without Limits? The better one had Jared Leto as Pre, and R. Lee Ermey as Bill Bowerman. I don't remember which one that was, though.

I think the second movie was actually called Prefontaine, the one with Leto and Ermey. I've seen that one, thought it was decent. Haven't seen the other one, Without Limits, starring Billy Crudup and Donald Sutherland.

You are right. My memory failed me for a minute. Without Limits wasn't bad. Donald Sutherland is good in everything he does. I think I remember the other one because I've been an Ermey fan since Full Metal Jacket. Come to think of it, I could think of a few posters who should be forced to change their name to Gomer Pyle. :D

Enough of this Jack circle jerk. I'm watching Married with Children. Al would break Jack in half, just for the banter.

Come to think of it, Ed O'Neil was in Prefontaine as well. He played an assistant coach who was intelligent, empathetic and quiet. Basically the anti-Bundy.
