Technically I think they're emo. ;)
I'd catagorize them more as Alternative Rock. Emo is bands like Taking Back Sunday. You can just tell when a band is emo by their name. Hawthorne Heights, From First To Last, The Used. Ugh, I ********ing hate that shiat.

Weezer is definitely not emo, they're alternative. Blue Album is their best, with Pinkerton a close second. Their latest effort is not bad either.
*ditto on the emo thing, I despise these so called emo bands today, although I have to admit I dig My Chemical Romance (everything except that first single of theirs)

Most of the so-called "emo" today is just whiny shit rock. The term emo has taken on a bad rap because of them, but when Weezer first came out, they were definitely classed as emo.
But that's what happens with any genre of music. The first bands are innovative and do something different, then you have the imitators, and eventually the bands that take the new sound and over-produce it to the point where it gets played all over the radio and appeals only to 13-year-old girls. Kinda like grunge having the innovators like Nirvana and Pearl Jam, the copycats like Bush, and then the end of the line with Nickelback and their ilk.
The nice thing about "alternative" is that it applies to quality bands who have moved past the others in their genre. So in that sense, Weezer are alternative.

Don't get me started on Nickelback. I can't stand them. They represent Canadian music horribly. The Tragically Hip on the other hand represent it very well.

I dont know why, but I havnt really been into watching too many other shows that arent soccer related apart from a select few. Once in a while I will catch something else, especially with it being NBA playoffs time.
Not to make a stupid generalization, but I bet Im the only person in here that watches BET.

My TV is on non-stop, it being the end of the semester writing season and all. I'm watching Alien on FX now. You know that you're looking at a good sci fi film when it's over 25 years old, and it's depiction of the future is still plausible-looking.

I swore off BET. I only watch it as a microcosm of what it really is.
Meaning I only watch 10 minutes of BET Uncut a week. The rest is useless to me.
