Sadly, I must admit, I watched American Idol tonight..:o :)
No shame in that. I watch it from time to time too, not only because tv is my field of interest, that show is just almost impossible to avoid. It's a monster, one that network television hasn't seen in years. It eats up just about any show that it goes up against. It even thumped Lost, forcing abc to move it to a timeslot after American Idol finishes. It's THE television phenomenon of our time.

Some of the singers are excellent. The tryout episodes are the ones I really like. A lot of humor in those.ie. William Hung, etc..

Just started watching the U.S. version of The Office, after 2 years of raising my nose to it (being a fan of the original.) Have to say, its hilarious. Not as nuanced as the British one, but just as funny and even more sometimes. Being Indian, the Diwali episode from season 3 was especially funny.

Note that so long it's something that SirManc watches or does, regardless of all varieties of shit that it is, it's approved and unshameful.

If it's the one about a group of early twenty-somethings mooching about in Runcorn and not doing much then I've got to say it's not for me. Or have they made an American version of that too?

I saw 1 episode of it and found it to be complete and utter shit.. It was every bad Boston Irish cliche you could think of rolled into an hour...
