That sounds really cool.
Without sidetracking this excellent thread, I'll just say this: It's very cool. You can see some of the drawings on the Marvel site.

Does anyone on here like Man vs.Wild? I enjoy it too..
That's good, but I like Survivorman more, mainly because he's his own camera crew. If something were to go wrong, no one would know until it was too late. Man vs. Wild is cool tho, that dude's pretty hardcore.
Speaking of Discovery Channel/TLC, I'm also a huge fan of Mythbusters and Dirty Jobs.

Dirty Jobs is alright, but that guy with the goatee and beret on Mythbusters annoys the hell out of me.
Anyone else into Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations. That dude will eat anything..

You have to be sure of who you are to give "Ugly Betty" a chance. I think you'll like it. Too bad you can't start at the beginning. (Maybe online.)
By the way, I just bought my first comic book. "Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born #1". (Maybe I'll start hating "Heroes" too.) ;)
I was going to get that, there was this big buzz, the art looks great. Let me know how it is.
If you ever want to try great great comic books, check out anything by Alan Moore (particularly Watchmen) Frank Miller, Brian K. Vaughn (Y The Last Man) and Garth Ennis' Preacher.

I thought I watched a lot of TV, but man, you guys sound like it's with you all the time.
I have one of those pathetic "coming into a new country, not being able to get accomodated so I turned to TV" stories. I also want to get a job in TV sometime.

The first issue of "The Dark Tower" was excellent. (I'm not sure how it plays if you haven't read the books.)
I'm tempted to pick up Watchmen or something by Frank Miller. So many things to read, watch, play and so little time.

I've read all of the Dark Tower books except the last 2 and I keep meaning to pick them up, but who has the time to read 1500 page books anymore.
Me too, I first read the Dark Tower series when I was a kid, and pined for the fourth book for years. After Wizard and Glass though, I haven't been bothered to pick up the others. It's a shame, those were my favorite books as a kid. They could be really great, I guess I'm just over my scifi/fantasy phase.
Edit: Dammit, I thought we were at the end of the thread, we seemed to have moved on now :D
And now we're finally talking about my shows. I hardly never watch sitcoms or drama series; my shows are more like Discovery Channel, Animal Planet (Blue Planet: Seas of Life, and Animal Precinct are my favorites), the Travel Channel (Michael Palin), and A&E (Intervention, The First 48). I also watch alot of the MadTV and Reno 911 reruns on Comedy Central. And my husband always has on Cops or those police chase videos. I guess I'm in a non-fiction phase right now. Weird, I hadn't thought about it that way before . . .

Next season of The Wire is going to be the last, since we're talking about some dead HBO shows. The focus for this season (1 was Barksdales, 2 the dock workers, etc) is going to be the power of the media. Also, the producers have said McNulty is going to be back as a major character, considering how he was relatively peripheral in Season 4. Pretty much it's going to be the end of the circle..they started out as the Barksdale unit, all separated over the last 3 seasons, but are back together for a final run at Marlo Stanfield.
I can't wait.

It's funny because I was going to ask if anyone else watched Blue Planet since I find it to be one of the most interesting shows on TV. A
As far as the Dark Tower goes. It was like an obsession with me growing up but now I just don't have the motivation to pick the last 2 up. My favorite book which was semi Dark Tower related was Through the Eyes of the Dragon which I read 5 times when I was younger.
Everyone thinks of Stephen King as a horror writer but his fantasy stuff is so much better.

I read the Eyes of the Dragon, too. It's what first turned me on to Stephen King. I was very young though, elementary school maybe, so I can't remember it at all, other than I loved it and it wasn't a "kid book," so I thought I was a badass for reading it. Heh.
Back on TV, I tried to watch Grey's Anatomy again tonight. They were showing the double episode where the guy has the grenade inside of his body. I just can't get into that show. I love Sandra Oh and Patrick Dempsey, I like the music, the comic relief element made me laugh alot -- I still don't find the show appealing. I don't seem to like any of the dramas on TV these days. Well, I don't have HBO, so maybe I'd like some of the other stuff y'all are recommending. . . Guess we'll never know. :D

Whoa, is this the Ricky Gervais "Extras"? I didn't know it was on TV over here. I watched the first 2 seasons last year from torrents of BBC, I thought it was great. Who carries it here?

HBO. The second season finale was on just last weekend. It was on Sunday Nights at 10 p.m. Eastern time.

I think Gervais is a genius. Unfortunately, the only work I've ever seen from him are The Office, Extras, and some podcasts he did for Itunes last year. I would love to get more of his work, he's brilliant. He and Stephen Merchant make a great team.

I'm still kickin'. See... wha' ha' happen was... actually I've been pretty busy at work and with some other stuff, so I hadn't gotten to watch the most recent episodes of 24, The Office, and Top Gear until yesterday. Didn't want to come in here and risk something being spoiled. Kinda sucks though because the stupid Dish Network nazis won't let me have an HD-DVR, so I'm watching everything in SD on the Tivo, which sucks if you're an HD whore like me. But I digress.
So this season's 24 has regressed to "meh". I actually thought last season was pretty good after an absolutely terrible season before. But this year... well they kill off everyone good last year, so it just leaves pale imitations in their place. And as nice as it is to see Rena Sofer (going head to head against herself in the same time slot as Heroes, no less), I could really do without Bauer Family Reunion. It just isn't working, just like Wayne Palmer as president, Jack killing Curtis, and schemer du jour Peter MacNicol. If they wanted an entirely different cast, they really should have mixed up the show, maybe get Jack working for someone else instead of CTU, a different threat... something. I can't dispute the utter awesomeness of the Jack Bauer Power Hour, but at the same time the formula is back to being far too predictable.
I'm still enjoying Heroes, which has the episodic nature without being as slow-paced as Lost. I was giddy upon hearing that Eccleston would join the cast, and the Doctor has not disappointed. Yeah it has a few eye-rolling moments, but its been solid overall. Of course Hiro and Ando remain the best part of the show.
Still sticking with Lost despite the complaints, and I really enjoyed the last episode. I just think the guy playing Desmond is a fantastic actor. But they really need to move the plot along for everyone not named Jack, Kate, or Sawyer, and they didn't do themselves any favors with the ridiculous split season idea coupled with the new time slot. The ratings are reflecting that. At least we've seen that The Others aren't some all-powerful force... they just defend themselves well. I'm curious to see if a Sayid and Locke-led force can take them on.
Let's see... The Amazing Race All-Stars starts tonight, that should be good, other than that I can't stand Romber. I'm honestly not sure what to expect, having never seen a CBS "All-Star" season.
I have tried to like Studio 60, but in the end I just don't care enough about the characters to really get into it. Sports Night remains my favorite Sorkin show.
I've only gotten around to watching the first season of The Wire, and that was a couple of years ago, but its still the best police drama I've ever seen, and certainly one of the best shows of our time. I need to get to the later ones as soon as I can.
As for shows I tried to get into but just didn't care about, add The Sopranos, Battlestar Galactica, and Ugly Betty to the list. Sorry, because I know all three of those shows have rabid fan bases, and if you love them, more power to you. I just couldn't get into them, despite Netflixing the first season DVDs of the first two.
I think right now that The Office and 30 Rock are the two funniest sitcoms on television. Just awesome stuff, though for completely different reasons. One is a sad, depressing funny, the other is completely over the top. Both have razor-sharp acting.
Still downloading a few BBC shows as well. The aforementioned Top Gear, to start with. Just saw their jaunt through the deep south, and while I'm embarrassed (although not shocked) about the idiotic rednecks in the video, what were they expecting? I'm sure I wouldn't last long driving through Britain with "Soccer is for homos" painted on my car either. And besides, for each person in this country who'd want to stone them for their "Hillary for President" or "NASCAR is rubbish" slogan, two more would want to buy them a beer. ;) It's still a great show, but I just wasn't sure what the point of that episode was.
Also greatly anticipating the new series of Doctor Who. Thought David Tennant stepped into Eccleston's shoes quite well last year, and it'll be interesting to see the new companion. The Christmas Special episode was pretty good, with the Doctor really showing the anger and sadness he felt at losing Rose. That's the range that Tennant really brings to the role.
Also caught the first two episodes of the new series of Life on Mars, guv'. :) I guess this is the final series, so they'll wrap everything up at the end. Interesting to find out who the man on the phone is and why he sent Sam from Hyde, and how that ties into the obvious "is he mad, in a coma, or back in time?" question.
And that's about all... for now.

You are the DS of TV :)
I'll have to check out some of these shows, I've really just stuck to 24, Top Gear for now. No new Entourage till April. What's surprising to me is that 24 is signed on for another 2 years I believe. They are really going to have to work hard to come up with interesting stuff to fill that much more time. I can't hate though, no matter how well I can call things on the show now it's still great.
I'd suggest you download The Wire from torrents, which is how I did it. I went to Best Buy last week, just to see how much a box set of Season 3 would cost me. It was tagged at 78 bucks! Really! I'm sure there are better prices somewhere, but I can understand why someone who is curious about the series would not be able to see it, especially at that price.

Most people would just laugh at the stupid Yank who couldn't spell football. ;)
Speaking of NASCAR, did anyone watch the Daytona 500?
