Rome and Deadwood are both classic..I like The Wire, but I don't rate it as high as Deadwood, and definately not Rome.. I guess it just depends on what you like..
As much as I like "Rome" and "Deadwood", I don't think that they've broken much new ground. In ten years, "The Wire" will still be regarded as a classic and "Rome" and "Deadwood" will only be remembered by a few devoted fans.

Like i said, it's whatever you like.. Rome is quality.. Doesn't get much better in my book..They're all good shows though..

If you are a history enthusiast, it is wonderful and entertaining..
You learn a new thing every day.. Who knew you had time to enjoy Rome. I figured you sat in your basement watching videos of crippled midget scousers 24/7.:p

Heroes has been a dissappintment for me.
Unfortunately for you, the demographic for the show is broader than the comic book geeks. Archetypes are necessary, mainly because they work. (They're archetypes!) Still, an occasional wink like casting Christoper Eccleston shows that they aren't completely ignoring you guys.
I continue to watch Studio 60 because it's simply different than every other show on TV. Sorkin is still a great writer, and I just find the SNL- tv world fascinating, as I always fantasize about working there.
No doubt this show will come good if Sorkin is given enough time. If I was betting, though, I'd be betting with you.
My sitcom professor (I'm taking a course on sitcom history and development) also recommended Ugly Betty. He loves that show, but I'm still uncertain whether or not to take his word for it.
The only reasonable test is what else has he recommended.

You're right. It's like we're arguing about Elle, Paulina and Kathy back in the day.

Friday Night Lights. Which I just CANNOT get into. But I'll check out Ugly Betty one day, if you say it's good. I just have to wait til my brother is gone, he'll never forgive me for spending one minute watching that.

You have to be sure of who you are to give "Ugly Betty" a chance. I think you'll like it. Too bad you can't start at the beginning. (Maybe online.)
By the way, I just bought my first comic book. "Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born #1". (Maybe I'll start hating "Heroes" too.) ;)

Steven King made a comic out of the Gunslinger???
I've read all of the Dark Tower books except the last 2 and I keep meaning to pick them up, but who has the time to read 1500 page books anymore.

I know it has nothing to do with Odessa Permian and it's tradition, but after watching the Movie Friday Night Lights, and seeing how many facts they had wrong, I can't bring myself to start watching the TV, non-related series..

Great show.. Bear Grylls is my hero, but I have to say I almost puked when I saw him draining the liquid out of the Elephant shit and drinking it when he was in Africa.

The first issue begins with Roland test of manhood against Cort. Pretty cool.
I have time to read long books, but only because I have a minimum of 30 minutes on a train twice a day.

That sounds really cool.
I don't think the other motorists would take to kindly to me reading a book on the L.I.E. during my commute each day.

Watch Season 1 first. It's better that way... You will want to watch it from start to finish. It seriously is a must see series.. Every episode is excellent, and it pisses you off at the end of each hour, becuase you are wanting it to keep going, and you have to wait another week for the next one..
Fo' sho'
And for anyone who's missed some of Season 2, they are showing all of the episodes on the 25th.
