One of the better appearances in recent years.....I'm surprised he got booked on the show seeing as how he's talking about Les Moonves's viscious and ridiculous vendetta lawsuit.
Good for Stern that he's standing up against that retard of a man. Letterman was very cautious but Stern rebutted all his questions in a great manner and truly revealed the ugly nature of a terrible CEO that does not deserve his position at all.

Dude is a serious clown feeding frat boy humor to the bottom feeders of America.
I agree that the lawsuit is ridiculous, though.

Everyone knows the lawsuit is bogus, but everyone also knows that it's generating free publicity for all those involved.

QFT, on both counts.
Stern's "logic" on why Moonves is doing such a "bad" job at CBS was eaten through by Dave in about 10 seconds. And Moonves is a sleazy TV exec, but who in his industry isn't? No one cares about the petty arguments of a couple of multi-millionaires.

There is more to Stern than that...you should give it a listen, he's been going on quite a few interesting political rants since Bush came into office.

No it wasn't, Stern commented on the radio department and fully acknowledged that Moonves was only good at primetime tv. And that's all that Dave really brought up thinking he would find some kind of hypocrisy in Stern's mindset, which there wasn't.

Stern basically said that Moonves had gotten lucky with CBS' recent success because the entire television industry is cyclical. But then Dave said that maybe the radio industry was cyclical as well and CBS just happened to be bottoming out at the time, partially because Stern was leaving. Stern wanted to discredit Moonves for the problems in radio, but not credit him for the television successes. Then he accuses Moonves of having a "vendetta" while wearing an "I Hate Les Mooves" shirt. Oh the irony.
To be fair, I don't personally care for either Stern or Moonves. No one wins in a contest between a sophomoric radio deejay and a sleazy media executive. I just tire of the whole "Howard Stern is a golden god" mentality. People like him, we get it. Many, many more people couldn't care less about him though. But like I already said, I agree that the lawsuit is frivolous. Spending 20 minutes talking about it though isn't going to change my opinion of him.

you couldn't be further from the truth. Even on terrestrial radio, Stern lauded Moonvess' decisions concerning tv. And for the past two weeks on Sirius he's been making this very clear for listeners that he has not ever and will not discredit Moonves' television success. He only discussed what he did for radio and the recent problems on tv. This is a common misconception of people who don't know anything about Stern other than what they hear in the medis or see on tv, or maybe when they listen to a few shows here or there. Regardless of what you think of him, for those who know him and who've listened to him for a long time, they all know he's completely honest.

Like I said, I don't know what he says about anyone on his show, because I don't listen to it, other than a few snippets here and there. I do know what he said last night though, and while he had valid points, he also pulled stuff out of his ass, and Dave called him on it.
If you're a fan of his, more power to you. I'm done discussing this non-story though.

Very well, you think he pulled "stuff" out his ass, I don't. Let's also not get into how Dave tried to get Stern to admit he takes days off, when in the end it was Dave who looked foolish.

That movie he put out a few years ago wasn't honest.

I said he is honest, not the movie, he wasn't the main guy pulling the strings on that one.

bullshit
I haven't heard him since he went to Sirius, but his shows have been utterly predictable for years.
- Gary will get yelled at for screwing something up
- Scott the engineer will get yelled at for not having the right microphones working
- Robin will giggle mindlessly
- Artie will either be drunk, talk about how drunk he was the night before, or talk about how drunk he's going to be over the weekend
- The Whack Pack regulars will show up for some contest he's been running for years (Miss Howard Stern, etc.), and they'll be drunk or high for it.
- Howard will scream and rant about some perceived slight by another DJ, the FCC or both.
It's connect-the-dots radio, and Howard's been phoning it in for years.

Again, there is more to it but you know what, it is still entertaining and sincere and that is all that really counts.
