Anybody have information about when the following players can be expected back?

Chris Albright - did he play in game vs. Saprissa?
Chris Armas - has he started training?
Todd Dunivant - back approx 3/24?
Pat Noonan - back approx 3/23?
Nate Jaqua - back approx 3/20?
John O'Brien - back before Christmas?

I think Dunivant, Noonan and Jaqua are all borderline for the Germany match.

Is albright like a great player or something? I saw him in the saprissa game and also 2 day after when the team was going to the beach and he looks pretty normal....

he's overrated. he has NO technical skills but he is normally, very athletic.

oh, lordy. that's the best you can do at describing Albright? Morado, Albright is a key Galaxy player who played Saprissa in his first game back from injury. he doesn't have his fitness or touch back yet, but he's a good player. he moved to the defense after having played for years as a forward. when healthy, he is one of the fastest defenders. he can get into the attack well. last year, he got hurt and the Galaxy struggled. when he returned, they played better and won two championships. the last time he played for the national team, Arena experimented with putting Albright in at midfield. he didn't do so well there, and now a lot of people use that one game to take potshots at him. Arena knows his worth, though.

Ah, someone with some sense. Nice post.

I bag on CurleySue a lot but, I think he did a good enuf job agst. Saprissa.

That artificial turf must've been an adjustment for anyone coming off injuries. Albright had his moments.

Saprissa was taken off their game early with some good play from the G's but, put two quick goals together in the 2nd and for about 30' in the 2nd half the G. backline looked lost. Ugo makes both Albright and Hartman crazy at times.

Albright is good with the right combination of players around him. By himself he gets burned and starts fouling the quicker forwards.

I'd say he needs a major shot of conditioning and foul-free play to get back in the big picture again.

Disagree. I thought he played a pretty decent game no matter what his situation. I thought he played an awesome game considering he was coming back from injury and had only played a single reserve game in the prior two months leading up to the match and went 120 minutes against an in-season Saprissa.

I don't know if he's going to make the World Cup team, and I haven't seen every game he's ever played for the USMNT to judge his nat team performance, but don't let your bias from other matches color your judgement of his performance against Saprissa.

Albright has played well when used as right back in a back four or
a right defender in a back 3 for the NT.

I will say it again... 90% of the game he plays well, and 10% of the game he is horribly inadequate. Mentally he isn't always there and is sometimes spastic. If Baros or someone like that goes 1v1 against him, he might make a great tackle or he might trip over his own feet. Not a bad option as a backup for Cherundolo though because he can make the same runs forward and never really tires when he is healthy. He is usually very good in the final ten minutes. Very similar to Heydude in terms of ability though Frankie defends a little better while Albright puts better crosses in. In his defense Albright has played well for the USMNT in recent appearances and has seemed to have calmed down a little. (see also Ben Olsen) His size is also a consideration.

Excuse me, but what a standard cop-out. Did you actually watch the game? He played pretty well. Definitely did not suck.

Well, I'd be giving pretty positive ratings by saying he didn't help his team much at all during the second half. Seemed gassed and quite content to hit long balls to nowhere.

Albright definitely tired the last 15 or so, but it was a very encouraging performance. I don't understand the "he sucked" comments. He's still a little iffy in 1v1 situations, straighten that out and he could potentially make the team. I like the idea of having two backup wingbacks that can play either side. Hejduk, Albright, and Spector can all do that, and I think two of them will go unless Dunivant gets another chance and is terrific. I still think 5 center backs is too many, especially with Mastro available to fill in if needed.

yes! i actually watched the game. yeah, he didn't do bad for coming back from injury but he definately wasn't good either. defensively, he was okay but he didn't absolutely nothing to help the offense. also, the fact that in the last 20 minutes all he did was walk around the field.

Really? When has he ever been responsible for a goal while playing right back for the Nats? Surely, if he's inadequate 10 percent of the time, he must have given up one goal at least.

tt's all the old-news crap he has to take on threads like this that makes me one of his biggest fans on the board (although your post specifically isn't that bad.)
