People who don't give two shits about soccer or even less about MLS all of a sudden care about the name of RBNY? Professional shit stirring . . . did they talk to the so called "offended" Hispanics who rallied against 1836?
I'm all for Harrison and was excited about the SSS, but I just assume RBNY pull out of the Harrison deal and try to find land in NYC or Long Island. Take their $40 million or so and shop those dollars in NY.

"This is ridiculous," Quigley said. "The franchise has a 10-year presence in New Jersey. Our residents support the team. And Hudson County and Harrison are helping the team finance a $165 million stadium construction project."But, you'll notice, the State of New Jersey is not.

It's always an election year. It's the one thing the Democrats can do. Bitch about something that really isn't offensive to anyone. It's politically safe.

Some of the decisions MLS makes are just clueless. Anybody who knows anything about the NJ Sports scene knows that name NY is going to be a problem if they are playing in NJ. This shouldnt surprise anyone. This has been an issue for years. Its as bad as the 1836 fiasco.

Carson isn't offended by the LA Galaxy. Frisco isn't offended by FC Dallas. Bridgeview isn't offended by the Chicago Fire. Doraville isn't offended by the Atlanta Silverbacks.
I could go on and on about this because it just points out that people from New Jersey have a complex. The part of that state around the NY border is a dump. The reason anything is around there is New York City. They really need to get over this crap considering how much money people are about to dump into Harrison's pockets.

Yup: the Jersey Journal, who are SO upset, don't have Metro/RBNY, MLS, or even pro soccer in the drop down menu on their sports site. They do have the NY, NJ, and Pa NFL, NBA, and MLB teams. They are getting their knickers in a twist about something they obiviously don't care about.
So, would they be happier if they were called 'Harrison Red Bull'? (insert goofy smilie face)

Actually, it's the priniciple of keeping your mouth shut about stuff that tossed around quite a bit in Mario Puzo's The Godfather.

What does that comment have to do with what I wrote. I was commenting on the reality of the political climate over this issue.
