I set up a private group on ESPN's NCAA Tournament Challenge named "Houston 1836/Dynamo" and the password to join is "general sam."
Here is the link to join:
http://games.espn.go.com/tcmen/group?groupID=59069&password=general sam
This contest is free to join and is for bragging rights only. Hope to see some of you guys there. And no... I'm not a basketball fan... but I am glad to see the Aggies got in.

Oh, hell yes - actually, MBean, you beat me to it, was thinking about gauging interest for a Houston supporter's group group on the ESPN game. Already entering a group w/some people from my running list. I just have to be careful to not pick UCLA to go too far, or to let my hatred of Duke have them losing in the first or second round...
As Cheech and Chong put it:
"Basketball Jones
I got a Basketball Jones
I got a Basketball Jones oh whoa woo ooo..."

I'm glad to see NCAA Final Four participation. I've been filling in my picks ever since I was 13.
Duke should run the table in this 6 win to a Champ format.

I'm actually not picking a single game this year. I just want to see what it is like to simply watch and enjoy the games instead of getting angry when a team I picked to go far falls behind by 18 early. I can't remember a time when I didn't fill out a bracket.

A&M better back that truck up soon...cause that guy will be offered by true basketball schools....I knew he was great after watching UTEP two years ago...because their talent level at UTEP was simply ok....he made them a competitive team..

Yes, it is. As Saving Silverman says "the greatest songwriter of this or any other time"...or something like that.
Gillispie could very well leave but we'll make it hard. Byrne will throw a lot of money at him and with the announcement of the $13 million practice facility/locker rooms/coach's offices that will rival any other facility in the nation, A&M is finally committing to basketball and that's all he ever wanted.
Games are going good so far, and luck has been on my side. I'm sure my luck streak will end tonight as every team I picked will lose. I'm never this lucky in picking games for the tournament. Usually I only get 1 of the 4 final four teams correct.

Tough luck for you Aggies tonight. It might have made it a little easier to swallow had Penn actually pulled a Princeton on UT last night.
As for my Bruins, they had a scare tonight too. Was interesting to hear from one of the CBS talking heads that it was a long time since you could say the outstanding characteristic of a UCLA team was hard-nosed defense. I've been thinking the same thing during this run at the end of the season. But like a lot of teams that hold you to the 60's, one of Howland's tactics is to have the offense hold the ball for the first 25 seconds of the shot clock, which I'm not crazy about.
So, do I have to go all the way to Maryland to buy an "[eff] Duke" t-shirt?

UCLA pulled that out of their arse...my bracket is screwed now. I got UCLA right buy had Duke, WV, and Kansas in the elite 8. C'est la vie. Now I can concentrate 100% on soccer!

... and since all the other contenders apparently weren't expecting Duke to lose, MBean has pulled into the lead (for now).

yeah, i had Duke losing to UConn in the finals, still was glad to see them lose in the Sweet 16 again. Was going to bitch about BC and Wash. choking tonight when they could have blown up everyone else's brackets, but a lot of people would have called what Gonzaga did last night choking (when obviously it was a fabulous, gutsy comeback by UCLA :D )...
now what is Yanks' problem w/the Bruins, just because they're from SoCal? It's not like we're talking about those scumbag Toejams (or for that matter, the defending MLS Cup champions)...

Any SoCal team is scum in my book. Angels, Lakers, Dodgers, Bruins, Trojans, Goats, and especially The Galactofilth.
I wouldn't really call that a gutsy comeback. I would call it "a nice payoff to the referees." But that's all the same in Socal. ;)

Since nobody seems to have any possible points remaining (PPRs) I guess these are the final standings for our group. It doesn't look like any of us are going to be winning anything from ESPN.

Yup, I predicted practically every sweet 16 and elite 8 game wrong.
The one year I go against my school to win it they finally proove they're worth something. LSU all the way!

Speaking of LSU, I heard that Jay Bilas guys on ESPN the other day saying something like "Yeah, and LSU was just one long-range three-pointer away from being defeated by Texas A&M in the second round." The he says something like "... and without that shot we'd be talking about Duke or t.u. in the Final Four." What a jerk. He'd been trying his darndest for weeks to say to anyone that would listen that the Aggies didn't deserve to be in the tourney... so I guess it's not surprising he didn't say "... and without that shot we'd be talking about Duke, t.u., or Texas A&M in the Final Four."
Anyway, congrats on your victories so far and good luck in Indy. Thanks for takin' out the whorns. And BTW... I picked the Aggies to win it all just out of loyalty (basically sacrificing several rounds in one of the brackets).
