May 26, "probably a South American team like Venzuela"
You'd have to guess this is Browns Stadium

Looks like you boys are about to get the same BigSoccer treatment that Kansas City got when the April 2001 WCQ vs Costa Rica was awarded to Arrowhead.
The bar has already been set at 65,000. (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7790956&postcount=49)

Also the genius who thinks that the US would play a friendly against the Czech Republic in May.

Hey, now that makes a lot of sense.
Have there always been this many idiots around here and I'm just now noticing, or what?

This game on a Friday won't help. I'm guessing out of town support will be very limited. With this in mind, what do us locals have to plan on as far as hosting this? (ie. Sam's Army get together night before, tailgate, etc.) Though there is no North Coast SA brigade, there are enough of us around here who have seen how things have been done in C-bus to get this done. The sooner we get things moving the better.

The fact that it's the Friday of a long holiday weekend might help attendance a bit, I suppose.
Anyway, I'll be driving up from Columbus, probably at mid-day, probably with my 8 year old son. I suspect a fairly sizeable crew (ha!) will be coming up from Columbus.

Hey Locals,
You know tickets go on sale today right?
Are you buying tickets today, or waiting for Sam's Army to put together an order form so you make sure you are in the Sams Army section?
Also, who locally is heading up the organization of this thing w/Sam's Army?
Info is very scarce from up there -
Here is the info you may want to know.

Does anyone know what On-Field Seats are?
I'd have to be sitting on the bench next to Bruce to be willing to pay $150 a seat! :-)

I posted this over on the BigSoccer > USA > USA Men > USA Men: Fans & Travel thread but I will be contacting the Blind Pig on West 6th about the game. It is my bar with $2 draft (including Great Lakes and Guiness!) till 9pm each workday! It is just a few minutes walk to the stadium. The owner is good to talk with and I know he has done vouchers for a free drink after events held downtown.
I would also reccomend the new Map Room right across the street from my place on West 9th and the dive bar (owned by Blind Pig Owners) down the street from the Blind Pig. Note-anything across the river would be too much of a walk, plus I doubt the water taxi between Shooters and the Flats will be running, it's too expensive anyway.
I will ask around about setting something up. I'll mention the game to the above bars, and I will be contacting the sports commisioner, the Warehouse District's Ast. Director, etc. I'll let you know of anything.
The lot between the Bingham and National Terminal is a great place to tailgate. During Browns games it's 20 bones, I can ask if there is a possibility for tailgaters at this lot as we get closer.
If anyone in the area wants to help, contact me. www.nateh.com...

They are typically "director" style folding chairs that are on the side of the field opposite the team benches. They are generally right behind the signboards.

Just to add, I think you get to keep the chair.

Kinda like the last Browns game in 1995.

Where will the rest of you locals be?
Whaddya think, Bill, around 20,000 again? The lower bowl was fairly filled for the Celtic match. Would like to at least see that.
The Tribe's in Detroit that night. Too bad, because it would be fun to make 20,000 sitting on their hands at the Jake wonder what all the racket is further up East Ninth that night!

 See the steam coming out of my ears??? I'm not happy. I hope everyone planning on buying tickets during the private sale has a Visa card, because that is the only way to purchase tickets. I guess I can let my kid use my MC for his bicycle spokes.

I'd like to see at least 35-40K. Anything less would be disappointing.

Prepare for disappointment. I'd love to see those numbers, obviously, but there's no reason to expect them. Ticket prices alone will keep out those with just a passing interest in the game, especially given the nationwide television coverage. There won't be much in the way of road support for our opponents, given the ethnic breakdown of the area.
I'll be more then pleased breaching 20K. I'm peronally responsible for bringing 5, so we're off to a good start.

I am coming up from Dallas - all my family is in Cleveland.
I bought 8 tickets for Sams Army Section.
I hope 40k show up.
Maybe they will do a "fly over" of jets, and something special for the Memorial Day weekend.
Wait a second $22 for tickets is cheap, isn't it?
Isn't the Memorial Day weekend a benefit for the game?
I wonder how many from Columbus/Detroit/PA/Indiana/Western NY can be expected to show up.
