I am doing some research and need to verify the accuracy of a couple of quotes. Can anybody identify some sources for me? Rep and gratitude to anyone who can help.
First: Socrates (the Brazilian, not the Greek) purportedly said something like: "I think it's much better to lose playing wonderfully than to win playing ugly."
Second: Pier Paolo Pasolini, the Italian director, purportedly said that Brazilians played soccer poetry (or "art-soccer"), while the rest of the world played soccer prose.
Anybody?
