We're putting our 12 year old dog to sleep on Monday and Saturdays just aren't going be the same with out him.He seemed to always know when Saturdays came around because he would be in the den before me,waiting for the festivities to begin. He was there when "Oldthar" came over from Germany to disappoint us,but he didn't seem to mind.He always gave up his seat if a buddy came over to watch the games with me,but he never complained. He celebrated with me when the games were good and he made me feel better whenever my teams lost or blew three points in extra time.I'll miss the halftime games of keep away we played with an old MLS ball.
Soccer Saturday won't mean as much to me for the rest of this season.I'll still be in front of my TV yelling and screaming but not quite as much without my good buddy. This is gonna suck.

I've never been so sad on a Soccer Saturday.
Hang in there.

I am so very sorry. Two years ago I had to put my beloved Rottie to sleep, and it was really tough.
Hope you and your best friend have a great day together.

I am very sorry, enjoy your last hours together and all the happy memories. Our old dog died last august and its still hard and there were a lot of tears..but the memories make the smiles come back...
Best wishes

Thank you for posting. I hope it helps (ultimately) with the healing.
Enjoy your day, and I hope you can find a new "best friend" soon.

This is one of the more depressing threads I've ever read. Sorry, man...hope you are enjoying it.

Sorry to hear that. I say give him all the human food before he passes on. Thats what I did with my dog, and it was one of the happiest days he ever had.
