I do, just couldn't use the same name here. I use "R45" on the SWSC forums.

Cool, we should try to get some more of the trini posse to post here too.
I find we not represented enough on this board.

Sweden and Trinidad & Tobago. I think although England are obviously the favourites...... they will choke.

I personally believe It will be between England, Sweden and Paraguay with all due respect to Trinidad and Tobago. If i had to pick then I'd pick England and Sweden but Paraguay will be a good bet and England hasn't been knocked in the first round since 1958.

Could I have some of whatever you're smoking?

I could maybe see Enguland messing up one game, but to miss going through they'd need to blow at least two. That's extremely unlikely. I mean, they aren't coached by Steve Sampson or anything you know? (The hideously bad USA coach from France '98.) I think the best hope for T&T or Paraguay is that Engerlund beats everyone in the group, and then one of these two somehow beats Sweden. (Depending on who you're rooting for and what psychoactive drugs you've taken lately.)

The Overwhelming likihood is that Angland and Sweden go through. I wish it were otherwise, but Paraguay is a long shot unless their defense is absolutely impenatrable. (If they could somehow pull off nil nil draws against both England and Sweden and then really thrash T&T.) For T&T they are going to have to score boatloads of goals, maybe they get a 5-4 victory over Sweden and completely stomp Paraguay 4-0. But it's going to take something like that to knock Sweden out. I don't any chance of the Brittish going home early, as much as I would like it.

GO USA!!

England will advance, and so should Sweden, but watch out for Paraguay!

got a question, Isn't England part of Great Britain? I'm a Texan and an American, aren't the English, Brittish?

Great Britain > United Kingdom > England

in England all americans are known as Yanks (slang), in America, Yanks are Americans that live in New England not the entire USA. In America the English are known as Brits (slang).

thank you, have a nice day

Wrong order. United Kingdon -> Great Britain -> England. The English are British, but then again so are the Welsh and Scottish. If we go even further the Norther Irish are British by citizenship rather than geography.

Yank or Yankee is still a slang term, a nickname for someone from a region. While you can argue its present usage for the whole of the US it's use by a foreigner only really displays a lack of knowledge of US internal politics/history

In America the English are known as Brits (slang).

Which is wholey wrong because 'Brit' is not, and never has been, a nickname for an English person. 'Brit' was a derogatory term for a Briton, someone from the British Isles therefore that person could be English, Scottish or Welsh. It shows complete ignorance of geography, history, politics and culture.
