"I don't have problems with the board, I don't have problems with the chairman, I don't have problems with the chief executive," he said. "It is very clear.

"I have three more years on my contract, I am happy here and I want to keep improving here and I want to win. I want to progress here.
"If I can, I will be here next season. It is my intention to see out the three years left on my contract.

"I am very happy here, and I want to win trophies as that will be good for the club, for me and the supporters."

I've never feared that he would leave LFC. Apart from the fact that he probably wants to prove himself by winning the Premiership (not just the CL), he wouldn't want to go to Madrid until he sees how Alvarez treats his staff, and if it will be in a similar way to Perez.

Although I think he will manage RM at some point I have complete faith that he will see out his contract with us.

I think he relishes the challenge of overcoming Chlesea's millions and wiping the smug look off of Jozay's mug by winning the league.

This is a great man.

We're lucky to have him.

Oh, I'm sure we have no idea to the extent of how bad he wants to do that. ;)

I always say that you can have a good player for winning one game, but you need a squad for winning trophies. You need good professionals because at the end you'll be with them for one, two, three, four years, not just one game. And then sometimes he's a hero to the supporters. They see him and think, 'Why isn't he playing?' But maybe he can have one good game but not the next four. OK, you can use players who can amuse the supporters, but if you want to win trophies you need workers, for 90 minutes, every week, every training session. Workers with enough quality for winning."

Everyone please read that again and again, and again one more time before you post after a loss. ;)

This is a great article. Make sure you check out the little sidebar on the right where Rafa talks about what happened at halftime in Istanbul.
