I am going to buy a Dynamo Home Kit as soon as they are available.
I will be putting "EIGHTEEN" as the name I want on the back and 36 as the number. I engourage those of you that consider yourselves 36ers to do the same. The more the merrier.:D
This will be my form of protest while still supporting the club.

Not a bad idea...I wonder if MLS will do the lettering for us or if we'll have to get one of the local soccer stores to do it for us.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if it's techinically illegal. I know the NFL will not personalize certain names on jerseys (i.e. curse words or Ron Mexico...which cracks me up but I digress) and I'm pretty sure they have a rule that says they are the only ones that are legally allowed to do the lettering. That's the NFL and they have their crap together...not like MLS. We can probably get around it even if they do raise a stink.

I think they will do it, but I will call and ask. I think you just have to tell them what you want and they take care of it before they ship it to you. As long as there are no profanities, I think youre good.:D

Thanks. I think it is a good way of "remembering" the fiasco without saying a word:D I cant think of anyway it would offend.

I cant think of anyway it would offend.

I'm sure Sylvia Garcia could think of one (or twelve.)

;)

I really doubt you will have a problem. I don't think they have a trademark on the word "Eighteen" or the number 36.

I also doubt the person taking the order or doing the lettering will have any clue about the statement you are trying to make.

Someone will take your money if the mlsnet store won't.

Such a good idea that you inspired me to do that very thing! Just finished ordering it.

I'm waiting to see what the kits look like. I'll buy whichever one has HOUSTON and not DYNAMO on the front and then replace the shield with an 1836 one. I'll definitely do the EIGHTEEN 36 on the back though.

Any word on when the new jerseys will ship? I'd like to try to buy from my local Soccer4All (support local business, and everything) but if the Internet store is faster, then so be it.

Put me down as number 36 as well, and my name shall be "Eighteen", too.

VAI DYNAMO, E "1836" ETERNAMENTE!

Another thought ... if the design turns out to have numbers on the front ... could have 18 on the front and 36 on the back.

It appears that numbers on the front would be an anomoly for MLS though. After looking at kits for some of the other MLS teams, it appears that MLS jerseys typically don't have numbers on the front ... so probably won't be an option for Houston. So I guess this post is a waste of time.

Anyways, what made me think of it was Peter Crouch's England National Jersey in the friendly with Uraguay last week ... had 12 on one side and 21 on the other. OOOPS! The printer must have hit the pub during lunch that day. There were two #12s on the field for England after Peter came off the bench.
