I'd like to suggest that we also sticky a dialogue thread for all that good "smack talk." :D
You can add the sticky after the Gold Cup is over.

***we need to elect 3 contestants on that that committee.
I personally dont care if we do it out in the open, or have a secret ballot and send a PM to onion bag with out candidates. I also dont care if the first 3 to join fill up those positions.. but we need to do this fast.. because there are some issues at hand that need to be resolved. A couple members have PMed me asking for the deadline to be extended 2 weeks into the season. Some are out of town and others are out of the country.
all paid contestants need to decide how they want to vote and lets try to vote BY sunday at 6 PM CT
***we will also need to elect 2 non-contestants onto that committee
we need 2 3rd party members on that committee. They can not be contestants. they have to be nuetral on the matter.
electing these members is not a priority just yet.
after the contest committe is established with the 3 contestants.. and when they decide on the extended deadline issue and after we have all possible contestants eligible... then we can elect them..
every paid contestant can choose or recommend a name... after all names are gathered.. we will have a ballot..
for example.. If contestant john doe wants to recommend mickey mouse onto the ballot... then mickey mouse is a candidate for the 3rd party member candidacy.
MY 2 choices for 3rd party committe members are
* Thomas Flannigan
* Crazy Yank
If by chance one of them cant do it then my 3rd choice would be
* Alex_1

personally, I think pretty much anybody who's on the list would do fine on that kinda committee. The only thing I can think of that would preclude someone would be one of the members themselves thinking/knowing they wouldn't be able to keep up with some of the minutiae or whatever, so if someone wants to take themselves out of consideration, that wouldn't be a problem.
That said, I think something arbitrary would be most effective, like the three most senior members or the first three who signed up or paid, or whoever sent the most money.
As far as third-party folks, I'm on board with Thomas Flannigan, Crazy Yank and Alex_1 as well.

We need to vote by today...let's do it soon because there is a lot of soccer to be watched today.....Mexico-Brasil, Osasuna-Pachuca, Juventus-Barcelona, America- Man U...etc. etc.
Should we have a poll and only let the existing 6 participants plus the onion bag vote for three committee members? Once we have the twenty one votes tallied up, those with the most votes will be on the committee?
OR we can also PM the results to one of our third party nominations.
What do you guys think?
By the way.....my third party nominations are all of the above. I would also like to add Concacaf to that list.

monkeyboy2000
Reason being they were the first ones to step up to the plate.
My 3rd choice is RDl since he came up with the game.

I won't vote for myself, but I'm cool with being on if it shakes out that way. My votes go to Monkeyboy2000 and Coster for being on board quick, second and third, I think; and rdl for coming up with the idea.

So I guess that settles it. Rdl, Monkeyboy, and Ric, you guys are our committee members. Now we need to decide on the outside non-participating committee member.
