i only ask cos i cant see any positives from this game for germany... :(
if they win nicely, it was against backup players from a second rate league...
if they sneak a win or worse - draw or lose - well, lets not even go there!
You are right. No win here for the Germans if you ask me.
If Germany scores early then the US will be in real trouble.
There is little in the midfield that can push forward and mount a challenge on this team.
If the US holds the initial charge the Germans must be carefull because there is some nice speed out there for the US, who might cause some problems.
Unfortunately, I don't know who will supply the through balls? Convey?
There just isn't much of a threat out there for the US.

No, but Sepp Maier will be reactivated,
because Klinsmann is unhappy with the goalie performances. ;)

i woudn't mind the second one. The good think about him is that, anytime he gets the ball in the penalty area, he will most likely score..... well according to the old video that i have but i think i am right on this.

yes you are right on this. I also have only videos of games of Gerd Müller.
I was not born when he played. So I could not see him how he play. But from that I saw on video, you are right. Gerd Müller my big idol, hero.
I wish we really had second Gerd Müller and Franz Beckenbauer.
I wish that.

Germany will win. We (USA) will be missing most of our starters.
If Germany doesn't win this match easily, Germany has real problems. That will be mostly a USA "B" squad on the pitch in Dortmund.......

Even with a "B" team I'm confident that we can perform well. I'd love to see Twellman put one in the onion bag.

Know what. When I read posts like this I think the upcoming reality check will be a good one.
No offense here, I just think you are way over estimating our B guys and you are truely under estimating the Germans.
This isn't the old Germany, but they sure as hell are a lot better than that Polish team we just played. Count on that. Fail to believe this at your own mental risk next Wed.

It's a friendly. No one will be destroyed by this match no matter what happens.

Germany has to draft from the youth u21:
Trochowski and Kiessling should have a try.

Well, I don't think I used the word destroyed, but I do think we will look like a US team of 8-10 years ago.
The defense will be solid, and the midfield will work hard but the quality isn't there to create and our forwards will starve.
The player who can really show a lot for himself here is Convey. OK Bob, you like playing in the middle. Here you go.
Many of our fans are really discounting Germany way too much, and giving way too much credit to the players we will have there running the show.
I just think we are in for a reality check.

I am sure the Dortmund fans will do that, since it's now about the national pride, it's all now about being a German .....
National pride or not, they can't deprive the team of their support just because Klinsmann decided not to call up Wörns. That is to say, of course they can! But in that case Dortmund should be handled like Florence was by the Italian FA: No more international game for a long long time.

Does anyone see Klose's smooth and marvellous flick of his right foot that pounded the ball into the net of Nurnburg last Saturday?
No one in the 2002 Germany team has achieved as great an overall improvement for a player as Klose.
I don't know if putting Owomoyela is right. The Bremen defence is not in their best forms lately. Is Friedrich in good shape? Or Jansen a better alternative.
