What do you all think Klinsman said to the players during the break ? it seemed to be working really well.
Maybe he told them to have another bier? :D

I don't think it went too well after the halftime. Germany dominated when Schneider was out and Borowski was in. But I wonder what was more important: to finally bring Borowski or to finally take Schneider out? But the same can be said about Asamoah and Neuville.

I'm quite high on Borowski. He keeps getting better and better. He has great skill, touch, passing skills, he's fairly fast/athletic, runs hard, and can score/assist.
As for Schnieder, he's still pretty good for Leverkusen, but he seems a bit past his prime. I doubt he'll reach the level he had at WC02 or prior. He'll be usefull for depth and experience, but I would go with Borowski as a starter at this point.

Well if anyone saw the Schalke-Leverkusen 7:4 game, you saw what was great about Schneider; great ball control, and killer crosses. Thats why Voronin and Berbatov are so deadly, they have great servicemen (Kryznowek, Castro, Athirson etc.). I think that the USA game was just an aberration. I think Schneider has great uses, maybe just not for the starting XI.

Agreed. I like Schneider's skills a lot - great dribbling, great crosses - fairly crafty player.
True, he just did not have a good game against the USA, and is most certainly capable of playing much better for the German Nats. However, I think his game is in slight decline, and Borowski's is very much on the ascent. Thus, Borowski might be the prefered starter (or maybe Frings), with Schneider as back up.
In any case, I think the right side of midfield is well covered for Germany.
BTW - Borowski can play on the left as well, as does so for Bremen at times, and quite effectively. But Schweini seems to have a virtual lock on that side.

The match was an aberration too.
Schneider is on the decline, as is the performance of Leverkusen.

Well I was just illustrating what Scheider CAN do. Of course that is an aberration.

Yeah, in Schneider's heydays he could do; and even could bend direct free kicks as good as anyone. Germany simply doesn't have too many other choices now. I am afraid his form further deteriorates and ends up wasting one quota in the squad.

OK, can someone help me understand something here? The video provided is an arabic/muslim feed and when the Germans scored the announcers would just go Allah, Allah, etc. Is that normal for soccer in the mid-east or is this just the announcers going, "thank God they scored on the USA"? Just wondering, curious...

I am not an Arab or a Muslim, but from what I could make out, the Allah-Allah chants are more shouts of appreciation and/or shock than those of religious hate. Thats what it sounded like to me.
Imagine driving on an empty street, and a cat suddenly jumps in front of your car, you'd probably curse or remember God (depending on your orientation). I guess this is something like that.
I do not think that it is anti-American at all. But maybe the Arab or Arabic speaking posters can tell you better than I can.

I was extremely pleased with the play of Schweini, and the team in general in the second half. Really happy with this win.

I don´t speak Arabic,
but i heard it in another Arabic football video, too.
Has nothing to do with the fact, that USA were involved in the match, IMO.

Really? When there are only 2 or 3 starters out there it is not a B team? OK, more like an A/B/C team.
do usa only start their A team against jamaica? it seems the americans here always see their side as a B team when they lose

The game against Jamaica wasn't on a FIFA international game day, meaning there wasn't one European-based American player in the game.
That means
no Keller
no Cherundolo
no Gooch
no Reyna
no Beasley
no Berhalter
no McBride
no Lewis
no Hahnemann
no Gibbs
no Convey
no Howard
no Bocanegra
Also
no Spector
no Pearce

Who the hell do you talk to or chat with? Those unrealistic USA fans?? I know there are THOUSANDS of them out there, but there are also THOUSANDS of us who can see our team for what they really are too. I'm one of them who can see the team for what it really is.
We are still improving year to year and there's no freakin' way we are the "5th best team in the world", I don't care what those joke FIFA ranking say.
However, if you are referring to the Germany loss, even I will sit here and tell you that was a "B" team at best. Were it not for Keller in goal and Johnson up front, I'd venture to say it was a "C" team.
I never complain when we lose. Especially when the other team was better. Years of watching my teams in European football will do that.
However, against Germany, that was far from the best USA side you'll see. That team was MUCH WORSE talent-wise than the one that drew 1-1 with Scotland...........

As of today we are now 4th...according to FIFA. Amazing stuff I know and that with a win against Poland, a big loss against Germany and a draw against Jamaica.

LOOOOOL.
No in the Mid East when some one scores a goal it's natural for the commentator to scream "ALAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!". just like in latin america when a goal is scored the commenatator says "Goaaaaaaaaaaaal!"
