When is Thorsten Frings going to be healthy? Will he be ready for the world cup? I didn't know where else to post this question..
Frings is only out for a short time. I've heard he may even play this weekend. He'll be fine for the tourney.
Not that he'll make a big difference......

Yep he's healthy and getting on well with his goalkeeper training scheme.

Frings is good but not great. He's useful to have on the squad. Whether or not he'll start remains to be seen.

I was impressed with Neuville and Klose, although on their scoring plays, they have to give a big assist to the spectacular ineptitude of Gregg Berhalter.
Yes, "Beerholder" can be really friggin horrible at times. Yet other times, he's had great matches. But when he sucks, he really, really, really sucks, like today.
As for Neuville, I'm of two minds about him. On the one hand, it's good to see him back in the fold, and playing pretty well. He'll add depth to the forward line. On the other hand, Neuville was never any better than a good BL striker, and decent at the international level. After being featured pretty heavily at WC02 (and having a pretty good tournament), I figured that one of the German youngsters would have stepped up by WC06, and make it so that Neuville wouldn't even be in the picture. One would have hoped that someone like Poldi, Hanke, or Lauth would have made an otherwise useful Neuville irrelevant by now. But sadly that hasn't happened.
Klose is head and shoulders ahead of the rest of the gang, and is by far Germany's best striker right now. And Neuville or one of the youngsters might complement him well. But hopefully one of the other guys might have a break out tournament.

The whole country of USA should be in mourning cause of this loss, but sadly there not cause it seems not to many people caught on to football yet, and if USA are to beat germany it would have to not be in germany. I was like wow when i saw this game it seemed to be like a world cup game cant believe so many spectators, never will be like that in USA
Mourning? Why? This game was pretty much irrelevant, especially from an American perspective.....come on now.

I'm glad to see so many AMericans supporting the game on BS....I mean, I live in NYC but I rarely come across anyone even remotely interested in American sawker...
Anyways, None of Germany's problems are solved. Germany just faced a weakened American side on their home soil....a win was expected, even of this unimpressive as of late Deutschland.
I dont really like the 4-3-3 because it doesn't work in favor of the Schweinsteiger/Podolski connection as much and that could be the ideal weapon this summer.

Next time we'll bring a team that is actually remotely challenging to play against, deal?
Good luck at the WC boys.

A few things that I noticed in the game:
Kahn-A monster in goal. Once again came up with two-three great saves.
Keller-Played a good game, 3 of the goals were not his fault.
Schweinsteiger-Played a great game. The German game changed for the good as soon as he came in.
Asamoah-I don't know why he is chosen for the national team. He is terrible. I thought he was going to do good this game, but once again he ran around alot didn't create anything. He should be dropped from the roster and not be given a spot on Germany's world cup team
Ballack-The next time the US play the Germans, they need to remember to mark Ballack man to man when ever the ball is in the German offensive zone. He needs to be marked on set pieces to the point that he is almost fouled. The American defense gave him way to much space. They did not learn their lesson from the last world cup.
Gibbs-He should be a starter for the US team this summer.
Covey-He should make the team this summer.
US-The middle of the their team was not there(no central midfield presence no central defender presence).
Germany-played a great 2nd half. I have to hand it to them.
USA-They will learn from this game and this will game will help Arena with his trimming down of the roster for the world cup.
----You ask the same question I do regarding Asamoah. He is TERRIBLE!
That's definitly surprising coming from you.

You are obsessed with Asamoah. Love/hate relationship? I think he's married though. :D
Well, you should now, since he married your sister.:)

C'mon "Arthur"---Asamoah "sucked"! He runs around with no ryhthm...or pace----When Neuville came in---things ran a lot smoother! I think Klinsi still thinks he's in the USA where he has to abide by "quotas". Look at all the other posters--saying the same thing.:p

Yeah sure. Asamoah is not very good, but that's not the point is it now. BTW could you stop pm'ing me about my imaginary sister now please. I find that slightly irritating.

He's eaten too much Yggdrasil leaves and starts hallucinating. Quite entertaining though.
Anyway off to bed. Sweet dreams of Asamoah, Wotan.

OK, Arthur---I'll stop. But--I believe it was you who "Fired the first shot" by saying I had a Love/Hate relationship with him...& that he was married--don't you think that irritated me? Have some of your "classic German compassion"

I thought Asamoah was better today than people are giving him credit for. He held the ball well and threatened from the right side in the first half frequently.
I'm a USMNT fan but have to say that this was an excellent display from Germany. Clinical finsihing in the 2nd half. Solid defending throughout. Some VERY good chances in the first half. It wasn't a dominating performance, but as always the Germans were the better team by a good margin.
The difference is in the details, the precision of the crosses, the positive first touches, the dangerous and exact passing in the box, and the mental strength on defense. One criticism I have for Germany is team speed. The Germans don't seem to have a lot of speed or quickness, which may hurt them in June. I thought our guys (the US) did well, except for our back line who played well in the air but lost concentration badly in the 2nd half. We may yet surprise people in June, but the gap between the US and Germany is still significant.

The Germans should be happy, but don't place too much in the result. The honest truth is they should have won this match.
I saw nothing out of Podolski, and agree that schweini made an immediate impact on the game.
I don't see Asamoah as more than a squad player. Neuville is a better player IMHO.
I thought the German back 4 played pretty well, but honestly weren't terribly challenged tonight, so no big answers. Metzelder still impresses me for some reason. How can you not start for your club team and play for the NATS?
Lahm and Schneider are solid players.
I think Kahn will be Klinsi's no 1.
I was happy with Conveys performance, but I hear he was criticized after the game! He was one of the few on the US team who caught my eye tonight.
Cherundolo was fairly solid.
I honestly think neither team should read too much into this result.
