Good solid win for your team. This B team talk is absurd.

Really? When there are only 2 or 3 starters out there it is not a B team? OK, more like an A/B/C team.

I hope Klinsman doesn't pick Ernst again...

Iono how you can judge his performance on 9 minutes...

You play with the team you put out their. Whoever is out their is your team. They wear the jersey they play for their country. If you want more starters on the field put more starters on the frickin field.

4:1, ok result, nothing great, we won't have such easy opponents once the games count.

MLS players are in their Preseason. As a result the best players were from Cherundolo and Keller.

Schweinsteiger and Neuville added much more pace for Germany and were teh difference by far.

Stupid comment. & of the players for the US wont start in the WC, and 4 wont even be on the team. Good job, you beat a C team. Jeez whoever is picking the mods here must be high.

I don't understand what you're trying to prove here. I PROVED your point read my post again please.

I said we won't face such a team again for the World Cup. You said that Germany beat a C team. So you agree with me correct? :D

Well then it's the same as having injured players. All excuses. Next time send your u-21 team out here, so that when you lose 7-0 you can say, jeez, it was our u-21 team, what do you expect.

P.S. Go ******** yourself.

Honest question german fans:

Does this result vindicate Klinsman for a little while?

Personally, i dont think you guys played particularly well today, yes i know it ended 4-1, but was that the result of great german play or poor US play?

I guess what i am saying is, Do you think this result will provide a false sense of security in the German fans?

As far as I'm concerned the back four should be set for the WC. Mertesacker and Metzelder have the potential to make a solid pair. And Friedrich and Lahm are by far our best fullbacks, they provide good runs up and down the pitch and do their fair share of hard work when it comes to tracking back.

Onto the midfield. Even though Kehl didn't have an outstanding game, he did provide that extra something which with time (Klinsman really should have selected him earlier) he could solidify. Ballack right alongside him, but not in the offensive role he's been used to. Also Schweinsteiger must have solidified that LW role by now, he came on and made an immediate impact and given Poldi plays he'll link up even better with him. Now as for the right flank, I'd like to give it to Borrowski who has played the role for Bremen well and did much of the same for the little time he had on today.

Upfront, I would still prefer Klose and Podolski ideally, however i think Klose and Neuville link up much better and compliment each other that much more.

So in retrospect, let's look at the lineup so far:

----------------------Kahn-------------------------
Friedrich-Mertesacker--Metzelder--Lahm
----------------------Kehl--------------------
Borrowski--------Ballack-------------Schweinsteiger
------------Neuville-------------------------------
--------------------------Klose-----------------------

Might help if you wouldn't act as a shining example. Obviously the "weak team" talk is about the guys tonight, not the full strength USMNT.

That's what he said. Germany won't have such easy opponents in June. Can't you read?

Just got back, will try to catch up on the game now. Doesn't sound like it's possible to draw many sensible conclusions from it from what I've read so far.

Hard to say..

I missed most of the 1st half of play, which was awful for the germans, but they woke up in the 2nd. There was some bad US defending, but the germans did play well in the 2nd half, I don't think it's the case of being one or the other personally. Plus, you can't take away that there was some quality finishing on those goals (esp. Klose's and Neuvilles), which is a good sign for me (especially if Klose can translate his club form to the NT).

That said.. I still don't know what to expect of this german squad in the WC... it's an enigma for me..

IIRC, Merte and Metzi won't be facing Johnson and BRIAN CHING??? in the WC...
if we get pass our Group, we will have to face either ROONEY AND OWEN or ZLATAN if things go to plan. I shudder at the possibilities. (Although Zlatan is overrated). The rest I agree with.

However, it was still an average game and I'm not convinced he's our savior. Schweinsteiger, along with Neuville, was the difference today. We shouldn't give up on Schneider yet, he can still provide a spark off the bench, he was poor today, but everyone has an off day. Good thing it was a friendly :D

Upfront, I would still prefer Klose and Podolski ideally, however i think Klose and Neuville link up much better and compliment each other that much more.

Neuville was a great spark off the bench, but Podolski got nothing today, everything was down the right where Friedrich and Asamoah were, it was hard for him to get into the game when everything was down that side.

Well, there's one. Germany still can't play a good 90 minutes and struggles to play a good half even. There were about 20 mins worth watching, netting three of the goals. The other 70 mins were rather poor.
