I haven't been following the World Baseball Classic at all, but this article (http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/sfl-classic07mar07,0,7432069.story?coll=sfla-sports-headlines)caught my eye. I think this is interesting for a couple of reasons: more casual sports fans might appreciate what the Nats deal with, and it shows that there's nothing particularly unique about soccer that evokes "old country" nationalism.

"It was a bullfight kind of atmosphere, so that will be beautiful in this tournament."-Buck Martinez

Yeah, bullfighting. Because bullfighting is far and away the most common spectator sport in Mexico. That's exactly what it feels like. HA!

I hear the US won 2-0. Something familiar about that . . .
