After England has many options in central defence I would like to know which 2 players would you guy chose I assume Ferdinand-Terry and King are favorits.
So have your say

Why only three options? I'd go for Terry and Carragher, or Terry and King. Rio is a liability and Campbell is past it.

That's why you are not a manager.

One of Terry/Carra and one of King/Rio should do the job. I'm sick of saying Terry and Carragher would be an awful combo.

On form then King would be a starter since he's had a better season than Rio but we all know Rio will start.

You just hate Man Utd. Terry and Carragher...bollocks. Rio and Terry for sure.

Have you ever watched Rio Ferdinand? The man's a liability. Terry isn't good enough to deal with top class international sides.
Come to think of it, England don't really have a top-drawer centre-back pairing.

Given your definition, Brazil doesn't really have many top-drawer attacking players, and Italy doesn't have a top-drawer goalie. I tell you, without any top-drawer players, this could be a very boring WC.

Alright then, tell me an English centre-half pairing which doesn't involve players who sleep on the job, or who are slow, or who can't cope with balls on the ground?
Carragher showed his true class last night so we can count him out.

Rio Ferdinand and Sol Campbell is an excellent centre half pairing that complement each other magnificently. Often regardless of their form for their respective clubs. If we manage to get a sane, fit Sol by the time the World Cup comes round, I'd advocate that pairing.

as Rick B has said, Sol has lost his pace and is history.

Considering his form before this season, and ver the last 4 months, to call Rio Ferdinand a liability is beyond laughable.

!?!
Astonishing how quickly players get written off these days. I'm reserving my judgement on that particular issue, thanks.

Sol's gone to bits, and Rio is only any good when he feels like playing, which isn't often.

The people who are quick to dismiss Sol Campbell are usually the same people praising Wes Brown and calling for him to get in the squad, in my opinion that is madness, Campbell has been a magnificent defender for 10 years, has gone through a rocky patch over recent months, but has allways been a leader and a man you can rely on when the chips are down. Wes Brown had a brilliant start to his career, but then the last 4 years he has been inconsistent at best, until this season he has been woeful at times, yet now after one good season, some sections think he is better than Campbell, simply not true.
In my opinion Brown shouldnt even get near the plane to Germany, he is behind Terry, Campbell, King, Ferdinand and Carragher. And we dont need 6 center backs, plus if Woodgate wasnt such a crock he would be going aswell

The only one touting Brown is that scottish halfwit in his trolling routine.

Well it's not that quickly.
And if anyone should know the condition of an arsenal player it's rick - so it's not like Sol is being written off on the basis of what the media say.
He can't even command a place in the arsenal lineup right now.
