4-4-2 is dead, get with the programme. None of the top teams play 4-4-2, and it's for a reason.

yep tried that sh1t in northern ireland and the following happened..
-owen got lost in a jungle of defenders.
-rooney was stuck out on the wing all the game and lost his temper.
-the tactic got outwitted by f'ckin lawrie sanchez.

So you put lampard as a forward and then you have the only guy who
actually plays n the forward role in a 433 (Joe Cole) playing in the midfield
:D
where is kevin nolan?

Actually it was a 4-5-1 against Northern Ireland. My formation doesn't involve Rooney on the wing, and it doesn't involve Beckham humping long balls over the entire midfield. It doesn't involve isolated strikers either.
Your post is a straw man.

Nobody gives a flying f'ck what you think ,mr cynical.
get back to the USMNT forum where you belong.
Svens formation was intended as 4-3-3 and yours aint too dissimilar.
Rooney would be required to operate in wide areas in a 4-3-3. there is no getting around that .You cant have 2 players in the hole behind a lone striker.
Its like steve sampsons famous 3-6-1 formation .
