I disliked Sugar because I felt it was his fault why Spurs were mediocre in the 1990's. His business skills are unquestionably well tuned, but he had a distinct lack of insight and knowledge about football. He was never prepared to spend highly to gain quality players. Granted, he got Klinsmann, Sheringham, etc. but these players left under his tenure because they couldn't see Spurs challenging.
Ultimately he cared more about Spurs making a profit at the end of the financial year, rather than Tottenham actually being a force in the Premiership.
Since we have a relatively young squad I think the future looks bright for Spurs.
We also have an ownership that wants the best for the club on and off the pitch, which we didn't have when Sugar was Chairman.
What do you think?

I agree, if a club isn't being led properly from the very top then the manager and players are largly irrelevant. Sugar was just not a football person and a bit outdated as a businessman.
I'm confident we'll do well. Even if for some reason we lose a key player, or Jol as coach, everything is now replacable with the structure the club has in place. We lost what seemed a vital person in Arnescum, yet it did not stop us in the slightest.

He hasn't done much since going to that club in South West London :D
