From Canada:
Jonathan de Guzman (Feyenoord), starting at attacking midfielder for Feyenoord's first team since he turned 18 in September. Was captain of their U-19 squad at 17. Born in 1987.
Along with Dos Santos, probably the best bet to become a bonafide star from this age group in CONCACAF. Already had Chelsea and Arsenal looking at buying his contract from Feyenoord, although the Dutch club said that they would place a huge sum on his head.
David Edgar, playing central defence for Newcastle United reserves. Born in 1987.
Will Johnson, just moved from Chicago Fire to Hereenven in Holland. Forward. Born in 1987.

USA (These are our most promising youth players)
European Players:
Bradley Michael 1987 SC Heerenveen Holland
Feilhaber Benny 1985 Hamburger SV Germany
Johnson Jemal 1985 Blackburn Rovers England
Nguyen Lee 1986 PSV Eindhoven Holland
Pearce Heath 1984 FC Nordsjælland Denmark
Rossi Giuseppe 1987 Manchester United England
Simek Frank 1984 Sheffield Wednesday England
Smith Johann 1987 Bolton Wanderers England
Spector Jonathan 1986 Charlton Athletic England
Weah Jr. George 1987 AC Milan Italy
Westberg Quentin 1986 EC Troyes France
Whitbread Zak 1984 Liverpool (loan to Milwall) England
Karbasiyoon Danny 1984 Burnley England
There are more in Europe, but the above are the cream of the crop.
MLS players:
Freddy Adu
Marvell Wynne
Josmer Altidor (touted as a younger/as talented as Adu)
Nikolas Besagno
Ricardo Clark
Kenny Cooper (transfer from Manchester United youth team)
Eddie Gaven
Brad Guzan
Quavas Kirk
Justin Mapp
Danny Szetela
Tim Ward
It is hard to predict the future starting 11 since there are so many promising youth players that are comming up. My best guess from the above list:
-----------------Guzan---------------
Wynne-----Spector-----Whitbread-----Pearce/Ward
Nguyen/Gaven---Bradley/Clark---Adu---Fielhaber
-------Rossi/Altidore-------Smith/Weah

Out of that list only 4 are for certain in the senior Nat picture for the future
I see Benny as our future Reyna for sure.
Jemal needs to put some muscle on before he breaks into Blackburn.
Nguyen is gonna be sick
Spector is our future LB
Johan also needs more time though.
Rossi  give it up

Wynne needs some work on his technic but that guy has the potential to be a beast on that RB spot with Gooch for the future.
Adu
Altidore... kinda looks like a late bloomer though. Werd on the street is he's already way ahead of EJs curve during his youth time though.
You left out Sarkodie, Zimmerman and Arvizu
Im banking on Zimmerman though. Sarkodie seems to be more gifted in the physical aspect of the game. He needs serious work on technic ala Wynne.
Arvizu is decent but I just don't see him breaking out. Considering our u-17 class was very mediocre this cycle, it still has tons of potential though. Hopefully they break out in the YWC.

Yep, I forgot about those 3. Especially Zimmerman at Hamburg, German Bundesliga.

Nice list. Possible additions:
Ugo Ihemelu - Already capped at the senior level. Very fast with great strength and solid technique.
Nathan Sturgis - 2 footed player with as much upside as Spector. He can play anywhere on the backline.
Dax McCarthy - Player with great technique and tenacity. Future with US lies as right or holding mid.
Sacha Klejstan - Future US playmaker. Great technique and passing ability.
Jack Stewart - Big player who can play anywhere on the backline and even in midfield. Can be a dangerous attacking fullback. Strong on set pieces as well.

So what's the word on Gio out there in the Barca Youth B team or whatever he's in.
Juvenil A or Youth A, is his team.
He's doing fine, just last week he was the only player from the youth divisions to be called to a friendly game between Barcas first team (at least the ones that didn't have international duties) and Barcas professional franchises B & C. He got a few minutes towards the end of the match and apparently created some interesting chances to score.
Then this last sunday some people from Chelsea arrived early to watch him and another kid from Barcas youth system play.

i wouldnt call it mediocre, it made it to the elimination round and lost to holland. A truly mediocre team would not have made it out of the group.

Here you go:
http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/news/story?id=399817
This is the web-site of the academy, they have three teams in different categories of the Spanish football:
http://www.academiaredh.com/indice.php
The coach of our youth teams has talked with them and we would have to wait at least a year to see if they have the level to be in the U17 and to stay in Spain.
