Is that one oval? I know many people don't like those clone 1.5 mile oval tracks, but surely Champ Car can get one of those? I mean I love road courses, but I'd rather watch F1 if I want that. Champ Car needs to go back to the balance that made them the best racing series on the planet. I really don't understand why the final three races are held outside the US. Add a really bad TV deal and Champ Car still has a uphill battle in the US. That being said, Go Bruno! I wasn't as interested in the series after he was taken out at Indy.

"Tony George confirmed Friday that he is actively pursuing unification between the two American open-wheel racing series, the first public indication from George that the split might come to a peaceful conclusion. Saying "open-wheel racing needs to be unified," George confirmed a report in Wednesday's Los Angeles Times that he is in preliminary stages of negotiations with Champ Car principal Kevin Kalkhoven to merge the two sanctioning bodies into one. "

interesting....

That what happens when so many contenders (not for the win today) retire after the first corner.

Voila, another SEB˛ week-end both in WRC and ChampCar. What does Bourdais have to do to earn recognition in F1 ? Win the championship driving backwards with his feet ? I mean, there's no guarantee he would be a World champ but can someone say he wouldn't be a decent driver.

He's gonna be difficult to beat this year, he perfectly knows the car, the team, most circuits, the way you have to manage the race...

Let's be clear from the start, I have nothing against Ms. Legge, she had a pretty (huh huh) good drive today and finished a tough race. But will the TV broadcast do a Danica again in this series ? It's annoying to be forced down our throats the sympathy we must have for a female driver, yeah I know marketing ; not very discrete, one or two winks wouldn't bother me but I think she had more onboard footage than any other driver...In a way, it feels like : "Hey, look ! the chick can drive ! " Yeah, thanks, she won three races last year. She's a woman not a retard. Or are we, motorsports lovers, still considered as a bunch of caricatural primal machos...

I have to agree about Legge. Great she's in the top eight. Now how many cars did she actually pass and how many cars did she pass because the other idiots crashed out? Of course she was fairly clean (except for her own spin), but a very un-impressive drive otherwise.

Sucks about the first corner, but I can't remember the last time we had a clean first corner or lap at Long Beach. Oh Well. Still enjoyed the race.

What kind of circuit is it ?

It's a street type circuit around the Houston Astrodome and Reliant Stadium.

How come there's only one US driver on the field ? Even as a foreigner, I think it's quite a pity.

Anyway, impressive run by Bourdais so far. At one point in Monterey I thought he really couldn't win this one ; but he succeeded in pulling faster times with hard compound tires than those who were running on soft ones and finished them off with the last stint !

Will dangerous Dan finish the season ?

Here's a picture of your driver, taken by me on Sunday.

The race was decent enough, when we weren't cleaning up debris for what seemed like 3-4 too many laps every time that we had a debris caution. That, and the stupid 1 hour and 45 minute time limit thing...
