I'm hoping at some point we can all put our egos and opinions to the side and support our team in a SEA OF RED similar to this (http://www.time.com/time/sampler/article/0,8599,265483,00.html), this (http://2002.fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/02/en/020624/7/17yr.html), or even this (http://2002.fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/02/en/020622/7/171k.html) (note the red jerseys on the players but the fans are still wearing red) instead of this (http://2002.fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/02/en/020605/7/s18.html).

Just my opinion, but if I were a player I'd much rather look up in the stands and see a UNITED fan base. You may think that it's not about what you wear, but the players can see the support more than they can hear it. This is just one fan's request for everyone to go into the stadium wearing red (wear whatever before or after).

I think its a neat idea, but as Americans we are also Individualists so I not going to pressure someone into wearing red.
I will be in red though.

Fine, be an individualist before and after the game, but why is it so important to be an individualist when supporting the team during the game? That seems to be divisive; look at the pictures above from the perspective of a player instead of an individual in the stands. I'm just trying to provide visual support for why I think it's a good idea to put all egos and such aside and join the masses of US fans for 90 minutes by wearing red. I'm not going to the games to show people how different I can be...I'm going to try and join with every other US fan in every way possible to show my support for the team on the field.

Hey, I think its a good idea and I'll be loud and proud in my red. I'm just saying I won't chastise others who choose not to, thats all. Also I guess I'm pointing out that herding cats is easier than herding Americans.

I've always worn RED at NT games....and always will.

It doesn't make it any easier when US SOCCER doesn't offer a RED NT Jersey...Many are getting one or both of the new jerseys and after shelling out the cash for those I can't blame them for wanting to wear them to the games....

I think it would be great to see us all in RED in Germany, especially since we're probably going to be split up between CAT 3/4....

It'd be great to see EVERYONE with a 3x5 US Flag as well....

This is a VERY good point. The red "Don't Tread On Me" shirts should be given away by Nike on the way into the stadium. At the '94 WC the Brazilian federation and Nike got together and made these green and yellow painter's hats with the swoosh and "just do it brasil" on it. All of the Brazilians were wearing them at the quarterfinal game against the Dutch I went to. I tried to buy one off a guy after the game and he was so ecstatic over the win he just gave it to me. Still have it.

I always wear red to games but I've been thinking about buying one of the new blue jerseys...may just wear the DTOM t-shirt, though, who knows

I just bought the new home USA jersey , and will wear it in Germany , but not to the games . I will either be wearing my red DTOM , or my new Brucesliga t shirt . I'll have red scarves , a huge red uncle sam hat , and plenty of USA flags . I'm also thinking about getting some USA parachute pants . Gawd this summer is gonna be amazing !
I agree with you . When I see fans of a country all wearing a certain color , like Holland or South Korea , its amazing , and I am immediately attracted to that team , and want to watch them . It would be amazing if we could get more than just Sams Army wearing red , but the whole stadium .

I don't know how the rest of you feel, but I think this ringer T-shirt just kicks ass.

On the other hand...

I just hope the Czechs aren't "home" for the game at Gelsenkirchen:

I've been thinking about it and I'm probably just going to wear a blue US away jersey to the matches. I've worn red to US matches before, but I'm not sure it really matters. The most important thing is to be loud and proud. That might do more to pull the guys through than the color of the shirt I'm wearing.

So says the HSV and DC United supporter. Looking from everything you've listed I would guess you are a German team fan.

My brother and I have over 100 USA 3'x5' flags we are looking to sell. So far I've only gotten a few buyers. We are selling them for less than $5 each, and that includes shipping. We can sell 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 50, etc.

Heres a picture of the actual flag in use at the DC United-Getafe game the other night:

I am wearing a home US jersey to matches. The Sammers should wear red. My group is a bit more underground, albeit just as hip.
