Do you mean undergrad or post-grad? I think the US progression is slightly different from the system here.

I'll be entering the final semester of a BSc in Psychology in a couple of weeks, hopefully going on to post-grad work after that if I ever figure out what area I want to do it in.

Post grad. Master's for instance.

Is that what you are talking about, Joel?

Well I'm in my final exams period now. I've got my first of five tomorrow morning (later this morning I guess) at 9:00 am and then I've got two on wednesday, then im off for a week and have macroeconomics on the 18th at 7:00 PM, and then I've got my fifth and final exam on the 21st at 4:30 pm. Now to all of you American posters you're probably saying "You're almost finished school already!" and that is true, but consider this: My school's exam period started on the 9th, my first exam is on the 10th. My school's exam period ends on the 21st. My last exam ends at 6PM on the 21st!

Yeah we in the final exam period over here in Montreal as well. I got one coming Monday, then I got MacroEconomics(I hate it with a passion) as well on Wednesday. The got a 3500 take home final essay that I am going to have to beast in 1 day. And lastly Marketing exam on the 27th....

Its so ************ doing all that shit now, but then afterwards...when its summertime, and your doing nothing by making money and melting in the sun, you look back and its worth it.

Yup, I'm finding it sooooo hard to concentrate on studying (I'm an extremely poor studier to begin with) when I know that summer is only 11 days away for me. It's all I keep thinking about, lol.

I'm majoring in Peace and Conflict Studies which is kind of like International development and what not. It's extremely interesting to me and in the past couple of years I've begun to get into world politics and with this major it can enable me to travel so many different places and give me so many job options once I graduate. For third year I'm planning on getting a job at the UN headquaters in New York City for a couple of months after travelling to Ghana or Ethiopia the summer before. You're majoring in something busines related right?

Spring has arrived in St.Louis, and with it comes an increase in skipped classes, playing football, drinking, chilling, and a slight drop in grades. I graduate from Uni in 4 weeks, and though I don't know exactly what I'm doing, it's hard to concentrate on school anymore.

Not to attack you or anything, but are there really alot of jobs out there for that specifically? I know plenty of people at my University (not even top tier) that are in poly sci, isn't that pretty much the same thing?

To answer it in short... no, they are quite different.

How so? What makes your major special? Just curious.

Well, I'm doing this 4 year 'accelerated masters' course in Computer Engineering, basically you do 4 years straight and get a Masters instead of 3 years of undergrad then 2 for postgrad (UK engineering norm), so that might count...

Any idea what area you want to focus on for your Master's?

I've actually been trying to figure it out myself for a couple of years now... I've got a CompE undergrad.

Yeah, going to get into Marketing. I am thinking of becoming an Advertiser. Still not exactly sure what I want to do with my life though. I like International Business as well, I was thinking maybe I would get into that.

I am still unsure...

Your shit sounds nice though, lots of money to be made in the UN, especially you get a high position with all the corruption and what not. Travelling is the best, thats what Int. Business sounds appealing to me. Its good that you have a plan already in your mind.

Not..a..clue.

To be honest I'm still stressing about whether I made the right choice between Eng and pure Science, but whenever I think through it logically, I conclude I did: I'd rather be the chartered Engineer earning £20,000 more than the guys doing stuff that can be mostly learned from "Teach yourself <insert programming language> in 30 days" books...

I donno, still torn. Therefor my masters focus is still pretty far in the periphery of my mind :)
