I'm going to be swarmed this semester. Between oceanography, practical film analysis, screenwriting and film production I'll be busy every single day of the week.
What's even worse is, in Film Production, the prof. expects the pre-production report by next week, meanwhile I just got my crew together now and everyone's schedule conflicts therefore we can't do any decent location scouting until then. Shit!

I've still got Frosh week up until Sunday so I'm having an awesome time at school right now. Every night so far has been hilarious with a lot of drunkeness. Waterloo is great, I love it here. It's also been the reason why I haven't posted since Saturday lol. Damn, my posts were just starting to get good again too!

********ing school. I am not liking this. Some classes are ok, but 3 of my classes I am lost in and I have a Cal III test friday and I am not up to date :(. Start off the year in the wrong way I always say!!! :mad:So, tomorrow is the day for panic and stress and doom followed by the high high pass -- like always. Good luck anyway. :)

sh*t man I already have 3 papers and 2 exams in the next week...uhhh.
luckily we also have 2 pl matches and a CL match in the next week ;)
and littleman, I live and die by torrents...I used to get great streaming, but I've moved to a new pad and the wireless internet sucks. So no more streaming for me, its all torrents now.

I'm taking a class on US Military History this semester, and I don't think I've ever been as excited to see my reading list for a class as I am for this one. A book on Pearl Harbor which could be interesting and a couple general military history books. But there also are Ulysses S. Grant's Memoirs, a book on the European Theatre during WWII, and it's partner, which deals with the Far East during WWII. The final book is written by a retired Colonel and a journalist who were together in Ia Drang during the Vietnam war.
Not to mention for my other history class I'm currently reading a book about bare-knuckled prizefighting in the U.S. (and England) during the 1800s!

Mandarin is very close to English.. For the most part the grammar is portable. "I want to go to China" is "Wo yao qu zhong guo".. same grammar structure. For asian languages, Japanese is one of the harder ones. "I want to go to Tokyo" essentially becomes something like "I want to, Tokyo, go" in Japanese (told to me by my Japanese housemate).
It's good that you know mandarin.. but do you know how to write? Because you must be very intelligent if you can read and write chinese already. It's much more pictorial than english with symbols and such, so much such that psychologists have investigated how people who are versed in mandarin read/write have a slightly more developed faculty for image processing.
Anyway, I don't know Cantonese.. so darn you! All you have to learn is how to pronounce the words though.. they essentially have the same underlying words (literally).
I can vouch for Japanese being a bitch. Tenses are also impossible and there are atleast 6 or 7 different ways to count. as in... you count fruit differently from people, and floors in a building have different numbers compared to small round objects... makes you want to pull your freakin hair out.
