I'm about to start doing research for a 3,000 word essay that is due on Tuesday. :(

Ah man. Research papers are so brutal. With the consistent citations. The research part is even worse. I usually start that WEEKS before it due. Good luck....

I need to do some coursework, start studying and get my sleep pattern in check. With that in mind...

Got my exam schedule yesterday. I've got exams both on the day of the CL final and the day after, so if we were to make it to Athens then I would not be able to go. On top of that, I've got an exam that starts an hour after the FA Cup final is supposed to end, so I'm not sure I'll even be able to watch it.

MLB on Sunday, NHL on Monday and CL/NBA on Tuesday. Not what I had in mind. Awful exam that the majority of my year will be doing again, myself included. Hopefully my coursework bumps me over the threshold but I doubt it. :(

I didn't know you're back in school. That's good to hear. You watching the MLB on the other isn't.

All that's left:

Wednesday, May 9, 3.30-5.30: Film & Gender (very easy)
Saturday, May 12, 9.30-11.30: History of Poetry (easy but boring)

Taking any Production classes?
We were meant to be doing one which involved grouping off and making a film, but our funds got given to the first year's for absolutely no reason, so that they could go on a trip to Krakow, iirc. In my shit course you don't get to choose any classes.

Sorry to hear that. I'm pretty much doing that grouping where groups of four are made and we have to make a short and bring back dailies and sync them. It's a pain in the ass because we're working with sixty year old arriflex cameras and recording sound with Nagras. We were shooting on Sunday and midway through the second film we had to shoot, the film got stuck in the magazine and we had to halt production.

Not to mention we get fined for every little scratch, even if we somehow tie the cables together wrong, we can get blocked for taking out equipment in the future. It's great experience working with film, and in many ways I'm better with that than with digital, I don't even know how to use FinalCut Pro, but it's such a pain in the arse.

What are college exams like generally? Essay exams, multiple choice, or does it vary? I'm going soon so I'd like to get an idea...

depened on the class for me. all my history finals were writing in blue books, my literature class was writing a paper and handing it in. for my stats class and insurance classes finals were a combo of multiple choice and short answer

Depended on my class year. As a freshman, I was generally in bigger lecture classes and as such my tests would be multiple choice. Once I got into the smaller classes as a junior and now as a senior my finals are more essay or take home exams (which are wonderful, btw ;) ). I'm a Crim major and Hist minor so I imagine it is quite different for those with Science, Math or whatever.
