Name your 3 favorite Revs game you attended.
1. 2004 EC Championship. Greatest MLS atmosphere I have ever seem,on top of a great game. even though it was a loss it was still intense.
2. Tuesday Sept 7,1999 Revs vs KC, Pooring Rain, not many fans saw the Revs come back from a 2-0 hole, score 3 goals from 67th min to 87th min, with Joe Max scoring the winner from Beasley. Also beating Meola is always great.
3. This past July 16, 2005 against FC Dallas with the 2 goals after 90 to win. Sent Dallas on a tail-spin that they never recovered from.

1: EC Semifinal Leg 2 against the Mutts in 2005 at Gillette where we came back from 2-0 in the second half, game-winning goal by Khano Smith. Are you kiddin' me!?
2: July 16th, 2005 against Dallas, just an incredible game
3: EC Finals at home against Chicago, another great win.

I'd have to put the 2002 MLS Cup at number one even though it was a loss. Really big crowd. Tight overtime game. Cup final. Before the game I somewhat followed the Revs, after that game I became a real fan.

i have to go with the same picks. all of these games were fantastic. i left Gillette on such a high on all of these occasions.
other notables would be-
-the '02 cup. farthest away ive ever had to sit from the field. largest crowd ive seen at a Revs game. too bad we lost and geting out of the parking lot was a complete bitch.
-my first Revs game in 2002. we were playing the Rapids. it was a draw i think. i sat about 4 rows up from the field at the center line, the closest ive ever sat. there was a guy sitting behind me who was heckling the team loudly and obnoxiously through out the whole first half.
i must've liked something about it. i came back. :)

1. Home Opener, 1996. Darren effing Sawatzky.
2. Eastern Conference Semifinal, Leg 2, 2005. The snow actually made it better.
3. Revs v. Rapids, 2002. The game Wolde had his "goal." Was a nice comeback, assisted by an own goal.

Blathist's choices really would be the most exciting games and probably my favorites as well. But others were memorable....
1) The first home opener was exciting just because it was THE home opener.
2) Mothers Day...was that '97? Monsoons and bellyflops? Best Mothers Day ever for me.
3) MLS Cup 2002 was incredible because it was such an event. We had so many fans from around the country come in to check out Gillette. The game...well I don't remember a whole lot of the details except for the overtime and the final score. Must've been that 5 hour tailgate!
I'm psyched for our own home opener in (how many days, Monty?)

Mothers Day 1998 (Some one here in the past has called it the "Hypothermia Bowl").
Revs-TB in cold rain
Start out with about 16000 in stands---down to <5000 at the half
Musa with a Hat Trick
Revs answer each goal and then win 4-3 on a late goal
Team does belly flops across the field through the puddles lead by Merlin.

The games already mentioned, especially ECSF Game 2, 2005 vs Mutts, make my top 3 as well, but 2 other memorable games come to mind:
1. The "true" opener of Gillette Stadium (nee CMGI Field), May 11, 2002. Taylor Twellman's coming-out party as he scores both goals in a 2-0 win over the Burn.
2. Wednesday, July 16, 2003, also against Dallas, where the visitors came out and scored 2 quick goals, and the Revs went on a full offensive assault for the rest of the game. Even though we lost 2-1, it was an incredibly intense game as the Revs had shot after shot, but couldn't solve DJ Countess for the equalizer. There was even one point-blank shot that hit Countess in the face. The Revs really put on a show, but unfortunately so did Countess.

MLSCup 2002: My first one. Who knew what it would lead to a few years later?
7/16/05: The Twellman w-hat trick. Absolutely friggin' insane day from start to finish--let's not forget this was a tripleheader.
5/1/04: I'm two weeks from finishing my MLS, have had nothing to drink in the past 48 hours that wasn't Red Bull, presented my final project for a class that morning and so was coasting on about five non-consecutive hours of sleep. Oh, and Blackburn had beaten Man U that morning, too. So to say I was bouncing off the walls at that point doesn't really cover it. Anyway, Revs clock first home win of the season against LA, and the entire team heads over to the Fort for a round of applause...and that's when I notice a certain giant beardy keeper taking off his jersey as he runs from the opposite end of the stands. A few seconds later, I've got a new shirt, Magpie's got a new set of gloves, and the Kearns krew gets a different shirt.
Honorable mentions: Both home playoff games last year (the snow, the pumpkins, starting the year with five scarves and ending it with none), the first trip out to Ludlow in 2003 (IIRC my first actual game spent with the Fort regulars), the first Dempsey stage dive, the 6-1 mauling of the (league leading, at the time) Rapids in 2004.

1. July 16, 2005 - The Ending of this game was just unbelievable, Twellman with the two late goals to complete his hat trick and win the game when it appeared lost. Still very vivid to me.
2. April 9, 2005 - The home opener last year, 3-0 vs. Columbus, The first indication of: hey, we really have something here, we actually won at the START of the season.
3. Either the MLS cup 2002 because of how monumental it was to reach that far and the general atmosphere with a packed house, or the Sporting Lisbon "Friendly" because of how surreal that game turned out.

Amy ... 58 days till the home opener.
God, I've got way too many games to be able to cut down to three.
First home game ever has to be there.
Each of the three Finals the Revs have been in, even though all were losses to friggin LA
The loss in DC (revsrock mentioned this as well) in 04. Great atmosphere ... great game, tough loss.
The rain games mentioned, especially the team victory slide!
The Dallas game last year was a blast
Any of the USOC experiences, including Ludlow, Fullerton, and Joisey. Being able to make JMM start cracking up in the middle of a game was one of the funniest experiences this game has given me.
Defeating the Mutts in game 2 last year.
The first experience of seeing Veronica Paysee live (hey, you always remember your first)
I remember a ton of post-game tailgates that somehow managed to make another miserable loss better just by being able to commiserate with friends
Seeing the opener of Crew stadium
Leaving the Mutts stadium last year singing after pulling off a tie late in the game.
Sorry ... I just can't cut the list down ... there's too many...
Yes, my #1 was that September 7th game vs KC back in 1999. I was sitting next to Jamar's dad. I gave him my jacket because he was in a nice suit & it was pouring. Unforgettable!
#2 was the Revs 1st playoff win v Chicago on September 19th. Mauricio Wright gives Revs the win. BO'D came into the stands right behind me as the game was winding down. Unreal!
#3 Revs score 3 in like 5 minutes v Tampa in July of '97, win 4:2. It was so surreal. We never had a chance to recover our voices...we just kept screaming. (I also think our annual 9-game losing streak began right after that.)
I would add as an honorable mention last Fall's ECC win over Chicago!
Great thread - great memories!!

97-Revs 4 TB 2 "And the lightening on the field is the New England Revolution!"
97-Revs 3 Metros 2 Huge crowd, 2nd half thunderstorm and a win
98-The Mothers' Day game.
Honerable mention:
00-Revs 2 Fire 1 First ever home playoff win
02-Revs 2 Crew 2 Crappy weather but a great result
02 MLS Cup, as others have said, everything except the very end.
05 Revs 3 Dallas 2 Not only a thrilling comeback win but the worthy capper to a triple header.
