Refereeing New England against Bermuda's Under 20s last week, it was a joy to watch the genuine wizardry of Noonan and his cohorts at such close quarters and I found myself on more than one occasion blurting out fan-style gasps of amazement and wonder – particularly when Shalrie Joseph let rip with a thundering drive from 40 yards.
I love the Royal Gazzette and this just makes me love them more.

From the second article:
"But either the Bermudian footballing public have balls as crystal as Beckham's are golden,..."
Someone at the Royal Gazette owes me a keyboard.

Forget the Globe and Herald, we need to make sure the RG keeps covering us. They love us and are grateful for us.

Forget the Globe and Herald...
Don't forget Fluto from last year writing for the Globe.
Fluto's stuff on the Revs was the bomb.

Seriously, not even including the TRG, I think we all need to step back and realize that we get the best coverage of our favorite sport here in Boston. Between FDA and Biglin, the great job that SNE is now doing, RevsNet, Bresnahan over at the E-T (the only good thing in North Andover ;) ) etc ... it really is amazing.

both papers?????
I've never heard anyone use the word good in same sentence as the herald other than...
"good news for people who like quality journalism: the herald's circulation continues to plumet"
actually, their sports is ok. globe's is better, but shaunnessy is such a twat, it's wash in the end

Bullshit, the Herald's gotten a lot better lately. Go hit up Wikipedia. Type in "journalistic fraud" and see what paper shows up the most.

So when I move back to RI, should I get the Sunday Herald or the Sunday Globe?
I'm not going to spring for a week's worth of Boston paperage, so the ProJo will have to suffice. Hey, I'll cut down on recycling. Plus, I don't want to miss the "Buddy Freedom" countdown next year.

Hope you like blurbs, b/c that's all you get with ProJo. Shalise Manza Young is okay, but Doug Chapman seemed to be a much closer follower of the game (neither one is close to FDA). Plus the pre-game match-up sidebar used to be really in-depth. Now we're lucky if we even get a preview of the match. Hell, I should go write for the Journal. I don't have an English/journalism major, but hey, I don't think Jim Donaldson does, either, and it seems to suit him just fine.

I agree. Both Globe and Herald are much better than the ProJo, which is ideally read at the bottom of a bird cage.

Hey, I grew up with the journal. We used to have to find ten mistakes each day in fourth grade english class. It's a quick morning read and I'm fine with that.
I'm more concerned with what I'll be reading on sundays.
