That's only some of the ones that are heading over. There's a big bunch of us, including some others that a) lurk here (LaValley) being one b) don't check out BS and c) are on here but aren't listed.

We actually probably should have a thread just for New Englanders going to the Cup ...

I'm not so sure you count Noonan out yet. The USMNT may need a bit of skill AND size on the left.

yeah, yeah, but you get the point I was making. I'm really, really impressed with how Twellman's been doing lately. We're used to him being mostly a poacher here, but in these friendlies, he's been all over the field, racking up the assists and popping up in defense when needed. If he repeats today's performance in a couple weeks vs. Germany, he's so in the final 23. And I can't wait to see how his newfound versatility turns up for the Revs.

Dempsey, well...everyone else is finally realizing what Rev fans have all along: this guy's the future of the US game.

(btw, WOO HOO ME AND TOOLE GOT OUR PLANE TICKETS)

I agree. I think he's still got a shot if he can make it back by MLS opening day/gets called for the Jamaica game. Similarly, I'm not totally discounting Ralston making a comeback. I don't think the door's wide open there, but I don't think it's slammed shut, either.

Personally ... considering that the Germany game isn't a Cup match ... I hope Twellman/Dempsey et al are playing for the Revs on the 22nd and not for the US in Germany. :o

Landycakes was invisable again playing in Reyna's position. When Captain America returns, it might affect Dempsey's or Twellman's playing time depending on where LD will end up.

Johnson may be athletic, but his skill with the ball is suspect. I think Twellman would start or come off the bench before him.

I still can't believe how the announcers continued to praise Gooch even though he was grabbing and holding opponents all game. He's what we need out there, but a hold is a hold.

My opinion on Josh Wolff remains the same: dangerous player in MLS, just not WC caliber.

Agreed, JW has probably been the least impressive player so far this year IMO. He just seems to have a bad touch and really seems out of place at times.

Dempsey looked his usual: making quick moves and drawing fouls.

He seems to really want that starting position. When Clint wants something, it's like sex with Kobe Bryant. You can kick and scream all you want, but it's gonna happen.

Ok ... that is wrong.

But sadly funny. ;)

As a Quakes fan, I agree. And in fact, that's one of the reasons why the prospect of Nicol taking over the US job post-Bruce interests me. Stick Dempsey in the same role he has with New England, with Rico Clark and Donovan in the Joseph and Cancela roles respectively, Beasley on the left and Cherundolo (or eventually Wynne) on the right. When Adu is ready stick him in the Cancela role and slide Donovan up top alongside EJ, with a back line of guys like Gooch, Boca, Spector, Marshall, and Gibbs.

This picture could never be taken in Foxboro.

1) Flag poles aren't allowed in the stadium
2) The Rev's don't play home games in the snow....

Balboa even commented that American youth coaches do nothing but "footwork, footwork, footwork" and don't teach kids how to use their hands on defense to throw their marks off balance. My son, who just got his level 8 badge, was stunned.

Geez with all that snow, frigid cold temps and hard field I'm surprised Bruce didn't just throw in the towel and call it quits at halftime!

I mean who in their right mind would risk injury to our best players in such a meaningless match...I mean it's not the MLS Cup or anything...

I guess Bruce isn't as good a coach as our Stevie Nicol...He takes care of our boys:rolleyes:

And no, I'm not over it.....and won't be getting over it anytime soon:D
