Can anybody tell me how he is doing currently? Because i remember a while ago he used to be in a big club and they mentioned him alot but now i haven't heard much from him. Is he good enough to get a call up to the national team?

Jermaine Pennant has talent and good pace. But the way things are looking now, he's the biggest over-hyped young player ever...at least before Freddy Adu.

From a biased Bimingham City supporter, yes he is good enough.

If other people think he isn't good enough for the Nat team I understand.

Maybe Ashley Cole has a better idea as to how he is getting on:)

Cole will always back up one of his boys, no chit. Pennant has some mastersteps when it comes to playing balls, but he needs to use his head properly, and make his team mates come first in future

That's too bad because Pennant has been supplying Liverpool with great balls into the box all season. I don't know why Lennon is given a look but Pennant is not as Pennant has almost as much pace and he can provide better service than Lennon. However I don't think he shoots as good as Lennon.

maybe....just maybe....because one is a total idiot who drags lamposts around behind his car in the very early hours....and the other one doesn't ?? maybe the same reason England finally wised up and don't pick total morons like Pennant, Barton and Bowyer..anymore..?? the national team has enough problems without picking these idiots.....thank fcuk Bellamy isn't English.

Pennant has had one or two good games with LFC this season. I expect more from him. I don't know that much about Lennon as I don't watch Spurs. Seems to be in Pennant's class....what little I've seen of him.

He's decent, but at the moment I rate Bentley and Milner higher than him and he has no right to complain when there's no shortage of England right wingers better or as good as him. Also when he's not playing regularly in Liverpool.

Heck, does it even matter how good he is if McSven is going to continue playing Gerrard in the right wing? Until McSven wakes up I don't think he's going to get his call-up anytime soon.

Pennant has had a few good games for Liverpool. I think he has not shown better form than Stevie G or Lennon on the right. So on that basis he has no cause to gripe.

Umm Pennant has shown good form on the right, the only reason he doesn't get more games of 'Pool is because Gerrard plays on the right because Benitez wants to get Sissoko and Alonso in the game. Pennant is known for his brilliant work on set-peices.
