That would be the send off game and there have been some rumors that we'd get it. Nothing official though.

Interesting, because I had it on fairly good authority that US game held Mem. Day weekend would be in Cleveland.

These rumors may not be mutually exclusive. The article (http://nashvillecitypaper.com/index.cfm?section_id=9&screen=news&news_id=48038) last week that announced the Memphis game for the 23rd also mentioned the other two send-off games would be the 26th and 28th of May. Revs are currently scheduled to host I Can't Believe It's Not Quakes on the 27th, but the team's also never been reluctant to reschedule dates to set up international doubleheaders.

Yes, when I look back at the email, the game on the 26th would be in Cleveland.
Friday, May 26th (Memorial Day Weekend) we will host the US National Team. We have not been told an opponent. The contract has not been officially signed but the agreement is in place. I guess the previous soccer games in the stadium have not had good attendance.

BTW, we're also the only east coast team at home that weekend--Metros have a midweek home game and the weekend off, and DC are away to KC.

It would cut my driving time in half. However, my shower-time will need to go up by a factor of ten to get that connecticut funk off my skin.

FWIW, from a Wash Post chat. Ireland in Foxboro is a layup for the USSF:
Takoma Park, Md.: Any word on the opponents or venues for the final 3 world cup warm-up matches in May?
Steven Goff: Some rumors (Ireland, Greece, Mexico, others) but nothing is set. I imagine we'll know in the next few weeks. As for the sites of those games, Chicago, Columbus and Foxboro appear near the top of the list.

Yet the only rumors with any real concrete backing (ie, someone in the city or the host NFL team publically acknowledging them) have been Cleveland and Nashville. My guess is that Cleveland, Nashville, and Foxboro get the 3 games.

I bet if you polled the players especially the ones on the roster last summer vs T&T, they would vote for East Hartford. Soccer in Foxboro was gone from 50,000+ for US/Ireland in 91, and US/El Salvador in 97 to just over 20,000 for US/revs doubleheaders vs the likes of descent supported roads teams like Jamaica and El Salvador and the El salvador game was a WCQ. It would have been interested to see what US-Panama would have drew last Oct if it was a must game for the US. I would rather drive an extra hr to CT for a better atmosphere and although is would be a pro US crowd, there are plenty of Irish fans not only coming from MA and CT but also NY

I'd prefer not to see it against them. US-Mexico matches tend to be too physical/too much of a chance for injuries at a time when we can't afford them.

I would be willing to bet that US v Ireland in hartford would be a sellout or within 3 or 4k of one
