America vs Chivas. No other club rivalry comes close. America is #1 and Chivas are jealous no talent hacks ;)

Chivas-America without doubt. Those Central American teams appear as they face each other every day. They are always playing. Yesterday was the superclasico of Mexico and of Guatemala and while you saw a full Jalisco, the shots of the Guatemalan stadium were of thousands of empty seats. Looked like an Atlante game. The fact is that they are probably more Guadalajara supporters than the population of all central america.

nah i would say the NE Revolution-Metrostars, and i'm not saying it because of the whole New York-Boston beef, it just seems that they've played some pretty close games last couple seasons and you can definitely tell that they don't like to lose 2 each other.

How can you forget the Super Classico that is LA Galaxy v. Chivas USA. :p

Seriously, of all the ones you did list (and you should have at least thrown an MLS club rivalry in there) i would say Chivas-America. Its the one that gets the most attention outside the home country.

The Costa Rica Classico is pretty huge from what i hear and i can tell you DC v. NY is a big rivalry in MLS.

But i just can't see any of the others being bigger than Chivas-America. But my education on central american futbol isnt the best.

America - Chivas... without a doubt

The America-Chivas rivalry has been an ongoing battle for 60+ years.

One team is from the capital city, the other from Mexico's 2nd most important city.

One team plays with all Mexicans, the other plays with foreigners.

Only 2 clubs to have played every season since the start of the professional era (1943-44).

None of them have ever been relegated.

Both capture large audiences where ever they play.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

However...like Rafa stated... i have tuned in every now and then to watch a so called clasico from Central America and I have seen many empty seats. And those empty seats were not a result of seperating rival fans, these were cases of people not showing up

One thing the playoff (liguilla) has done in Mexican football is that the fan can point a finger and blame one team for thier elimination.

America has played more knockout type (league) games against Cruz Azul and UNAM, than Chivas.

That is why I'll go as far as to say that that games between any of the following teams America, Cruz Azul, UNAM, Chivas are more intense than than any other rivalry in Concacaf

and you know what is worse :( Tigres should not have been in the playoffs. They got in by a technicality. Chiapas was taken away 3 points because they did not abide by the 20-11 rule

Except that just paralyzing Jalisco already includes more people than all of Costa Rica. Face it, Guadalajara-America is the biggest.
