Hey all,
going to be in London first week in April and am hoping to catch the game as Spurs host Man City. I assume the team website is the best place to get tix, but am wondering if there is a better way. And how much do seats usually run?
plus any advice for first-timers would be appreciated.

yeah the best place to get tickets is on the website. sometimes you get some nobheads outside selling cheaper tickets but don't bother with them.
its quite dear these days depending on where you sit. for all the drinks and food and stuff like that its gonna set you back too, so i'd take about a ton if i were you.
only advice i can give you is use the toilet before the game starts and don't get too pissed.
oh yeah and enjoy us slaughter those daft mancs

hey, uniteo, two questions: are you a member? and, are you going by yourself?
if the first answer is 'yes', then the second doesn't matter.
as you may know, tickets will go onsale at the website for members on the 6th, but will not go onsale to non-members until the 16th. with things going well for spurs this season, after 10 days of sales to members, the pickings can be pretty slim by the time the general public can buy. finding two tickets together by that time isn't always possible - and certainly won't be for long. so if you're planning to go with someone else, and would like to sit together, i'd strongly suggest that you go to the website as early on the 16th as possible.
frankly, i'd suggest the same, even if you're going by yourself. i don't think getting a single will be a problem for a few days; but it definitely will sell out, and the longer you wait, the fewer options you will have. why wait?
it's a category B match, so tickets will range from around 30 to 50 pounds ($50+ to $90!). again, the longer you wait, the less options you'll have - on one occasion, i had to buy the most expensive ticket in the house, as it was all that was left.
as for game day, just take the underground (victoria line, i believe) up to the seven sisters station, and walk north on the high road (a 20-minute, or so, trek) 'til you get to white hart lane. you'll have to pick up your ticket at the ticket office in the paxton road (north) end, as they won't mail it to the states. make sure you've got the credit card with you that you purchased them with, or they won't release the ticket. unless the weather is miserable, get there plenty early to walk around the stadium and take in the atmosphere. stepping into a pub for a pre-match pint doesn't hurt, either.
after the match, fight your way into the club shop where you can do your part to pay the salaries of king, robinson, and davids (it's easier when you think of it that way, rather than contributing to shareholders' dividends). keep your head! do you really need slippers with the THFC logo? and getting that set of tottenham wine glasses back to the states intact could be tricky! still, if you've got to bring back any gifts for friends or family commemorating your trip to blighty, a spurs scarf will work nicely for almost anyone.
a post-match pint never hurts, either. should spurs concede their customary injury time equalizer, you'll need it.
but the fun isn't over. you've still got that lovely jaunt back down the high road, where you can once again sample the glamours of N17. enjoy!!

I don't know about the rest of you but after I post on the spurs BigSoccer board I am offered a cut rate deal on a spurs bath mat. Why any spurs supporter would want to step on their club's crest after getting out of the shower is beyond me. My Spurs keychain beer bottle opener on the other hand -- I'm unable to live without.

Generally it is easier to just take National Rail from Liverpool Street to the White Hart Lane Station which drops you off much closer than Seven Sisters. That option is also cheaper than taking the tube from central London. If you do take the tube, the alternate to walking the huge trek is to hop on a bus right there at the station. Just ask someone what bus to take.

Yeah they do also you can get Edgar Davids' hair, no wonder he looks angry all the time with people from the club shop coming upto him and pulling his hair out.

I will be in London for the last home game in April. I am also from the States, but will need two tickets next to each other. This will be a dream come true.
Thanks for the advice written here, it helps alot.
I will do the website, since I am not a member, but i was wondering two things:
One: Has anyone ever used Craigslist to get tickets for a match?
and
Two: Is there anyone out there that already knows they will not be able to make the game vs. Bolton and wants to do me the favor of selling their tix?

i know nothing of 'craigslist' for tickets, but i've heard a few horror stories about services like that, and i know that many of them increase prices dramatically from their face value.
at the very least, i would encourage you to do the math. that is, consider whether two tickets at 'craiglist' prices will cost you more or less than two tickets at face value plus the cost of a club membership. if it's the former, why not just get a 2005/06 membership, and get your tickets from the club? it may seem silly to get one so close to the end of the season, but if it's your cheaper option, why not? plus, you'll get a couple of small gifts*, as well as your membership card for having joined.
that said, tickets for bolton go on sale to members on the 27th, and it'll take a week or two for them to get your membership package to you here in the states. so if you want to go that route, don't put it off too long.
*this year's is a small clock with the club's crest (kind of nice, actually), and a little plastic radio, also with the crest (less nice).
EDIT: scratch that. i've just been to the website to see if memberships might be discounted if purchased so late in the season, and it turns out that they are not available this late, at all. so my membership suggestion is not an option.

another one for you all, and pardon my ignorance, but I hear there are some cool neighborhoods around the stadium (true?), if I'm looking for a hotel, what area am I looking in?
Thanks

Apologies to anyone who lives by the stadium but my advice to uniteo would be to get as far away from the stadium as possible. The amount of 'Police: Can you help' signs within a radius of 2 miles of the ground is unbelievable.

with the exception of the spurs match (and a pre- and/or post-match pint), i don't know of any reason you'll want to be in N17 (no disrespect to the locals). stay closer to the heart of the city.
you'll have a world of options. virtually all are better than anything around the lane - for logistical reasons, as well as the quality of the neighborhoods.

ThanksErm to be honest the area around the ground is pretty rough. If you want a hotel then Central London mabey your best bet. There are some nice ones there.

The first map is a map of the London Underground.
The second map is a map of the London Underground and national rail around london
The line you want is the victoria line (blue line) and the closest tube station to WHL is seven sisters. Of course you could get the national rail and get the tube to WHL station just above.
thats only if you don't know how to get to the ground etc.. and if you're going by tube.
hope that helps :)
