Mark Wheeler will be opening up MFLS.com for registration on Sunday, March 5th (6 days from today).
IIRC, Jeremy Goodwin decided at the end of last season to pass the torch as the RevMFLS division manager. Is anyone interested in the position? If not, I will volunteer.
I also plan to run the same 2 tournaments I have for the last few years: RevMFLS Cup (early season) and Revolution Supporters Cup (late season).
However, I cannot take over Jeremy's Loyalty Cup, so someone else will need to volunteer for that one.
We had a record 58 teams in RevMFLS last year. Hopefully we can surpass that mark in 2006.
For those that are new, MFLS.com (http://www.mfls.com) is a fantasy soccer site using MLS players. RevMFLS is a private division within MFLS, open to all fans of the New England Revolution.

The new MFLS.com site has launched. You can't register your team until Sunday, but you can start planning by looking at the 2006 player salaries.
Our boy Twellman is now a max salary MFLS player (300K). Shalrie is now listed as a midfielder (he was a defender the last few years), at 155K.
Deuce is at 250K.
The salary cap per MFLS team has gone up from 2.3M to 2.5M, and the foreign player allocation has gone up to 5.

Another new feature: If you donate $10 to MFLS, you get a flexible lineup feature, allowing (for example) to play a 3-5-2 formation instead of the standard 3-4-3.

Also new is that the coach doesn't count against your per team limit, i.e. you can have 4 field players AND the coach from the same team. No more excuse for not having Nicol as you coach.

Oh, this could be a significant competitive advantage. Defenders have always been poor point accumulators for a team, could a team go 1-0-4-6?!?!?

That is not true according to mfls rules.

I'll have to double check how I came to the other conclusion, hmm...
EDIT: Drat, you are correct. I tried changing my roster and couldn't get 4 Revs + Nicol. Oh well...it would be a good rule change, not sure how I thought that it was.
I also found the answer to my formation question:
Donations of $10 or more will have the ability to field Flexible Formations in addition to the standard 3-4-3 MFLS formation. Specifically, they can field any formation that has 1 goalkeeper and at least 3 defenders, 3 midfielders and 2 forwards, and at most 3 forwards (sorry, no 6-3-1).
