Sky Sports 1, Kick-off at 12:15pm

Liverpool play host to Manchester City at Anfield live on Sky Sports 1 on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds will be aiming to bounce back from their UEFA Champions League defeat to Benfica and move level on points with Manchester United in the race to finish second.

Liverpool are without Mohamed Sissoko as he recovers from the serious eye injury he picked up against Benfica.

Sissoko is still waiting to find out the full extent of the problem and Dietmar Hamann is expected to replace him in the starting line-up for the visit of City.

Steven Gerrard is expected to be restored to the starting line-up after only being used as a late substitute in Portugal.

The Reds are also missing key defender Jamie Carragher as he serves a suspension.

Daniel Agger would be the ideal replacement for Carragher, but the Dane is struggling for fitness so Djimi Traore could make a rare start in central defence.

Peter Crouch is pushing for a return to the side after missing the Benfica tie, but Robbie Fowler is unable to play under the terms of his move from City in January.

Manchester City could welcome back full backs Ben Thatcher and Danny Mills for the trip to Anfield.

The duo, who have been sidelined for a number of weeks, made successful returns in the reserves in midweek.

FA Cup hero Micah Richards is a major doubt as he struggles to shake off a knee problem.

City boss Stuart Pearce is again without injured quartet Claudio Reyna, Andy Cole, Nedum Onuoha and Trevor Sinclair.

We're losing 1-0 at half-time. Sibierski has picked up an injury so I hink he will probably be substituted with B. Wright-Phillips. Barton has picked up a yellow card so he will miss the next two matches against Sunderland and Portsmouth because he has gotten 10 yellow cards in total. Vassell is being rested for some reason - he apparently has some twitches but should be back for next game.

oh well, what do you expect??? 1-0 loss to one of the best teams in Europe.

After all, they won the Champion's League last year and it was their homefield advantage.

We should be able to win the next 3, not including the FA cup. We'll be in good shape. If with at least 5 games left to go we are at 8th place, we should be fine.

7th place is still possible

Barton is suspended for three matches but thankfully we should manage without him because Reyna is expected play for the first time this year against his former club Sunderland. Reyna has been injured since Boxing Day when we played Wigan.

We should definately try and get at least seven points out of the next three games. The next two fixtures are against Sunderland at home and Portsmouth away and we should get six points from them and then Wigan is after that at home, which could be tricky.
