There are, however, places such as Darfur which could use our help. But of course we're not helping. I won't get into the reasons why I think that is the case.

Mogadishu ??

Mogadishu ??

Which worked out great until we decided to try another half-assed effort at removing a despot and nation-building.

Yeah I'm off for now.

At least things have remained fairly civil in here, although quite a bit off the original topic.

I'm not going to watch this as I am a lazy SOB, and I'm not going to comment on whether it is bullshit or not.

I have thought about this thing since the video "In Plane Sight" came out 2 or 3 years ago. That video was on a simliiar premise that maybe it wasn't a plane, but didn't insinuate anything about the government directly.

Anyways... This might have been said before, but RE: Iraq. Striker's Raizor goes thusly:

"Democracy is an internal force. Therein, Democracy cannot be forced onto people who are not ready for Democracy. If thus is done, the ideals of Democracy will only lead to its downfall."

See Iraq now, IE World War III. Let me tell you whats going to happen, and everyone start toking up (just kidding).

First, Civil War breaks out in Iraq. Then an African-esque religo-cide commences in Iraq in which the Shiite (I think) majority are going to start slaughtering the Sunni (I think) minority. Of course, the US is going to have to 'intervene', leading to anger in the Muslim World. As Israel begins to help the US, Palistines will start more attacks on Israel. Then the Iranians with their now hidden WMDs (Chuck Norris aside) will decide it now time to ******** everyone and blow something up.

I think you're wrong on step 2. It's more likely that the sunni will initiate the guerilla violence, because I believe (I could be totally wrong here) that sunni's still have some power, they have some numbers despite being a minority, and they have a sense of superiority having been in uncontested power for so long. The interesting thing is that the more radical fundementalist position is held by the shia majority, so it's hard to tell how Iraq's situation will play out next to so many other islamic states where we've seen religiously-motivated violence from a minority. You don't mention kurds, christians and other various religious and ethnic minorities, who are just doomed.

I don't think the US will continue to intervene. The war is a PR disaster, and our leaders' job first and foremost is to get themselves (re)elected. If the war is unpopular, we'll bail out. I don't know what happens next. I think the best case is you wait for the Iraqis to stop killing each other -- for the toll to be so high that the various positions become willing to compromise. It usually happens eventually in the case of civil war, and by "eventually" of course I mean after 10-20 years. :( Meanwhile, you hope that they've created something of an economy and an ideological base for democracy -- cause if not, there's not even a chance that a dictator or a fundamentalist cabal won't be able to step in and dominate once again.

Ok Iraq, prove me wrong. It's not hard to do; I'm really not that smart. Pleeeeease.

How do these people even know what cordite smells like?

Personally the last thing on my mind would be what is that smell?

"Holy shit! The side of the Pentagon has just blown up....wait a mintue *sniff sniff* thats cordite" I don't think so.

Very true, it definately wouldnt be the first thing on your mind.

But, the makers of the movie did some research, and experts on site smelled it.

I am still in the middle on this subject, because while all those facts in the movie I posted, as well as the questions do make sense, it still puzzles me as to wonder... can so many officials try and cover up this? Even when they are being bribed, and intimidated?

Especially when you think of the women who was threatened to shut up, and take the money, and the officials that were forcing the idea to her that it was an airplane.

About flight 93, what ever happened to the survivors? Did they just kill them? I do find it fairly suspicous that the two planes that crashed into the pentagon and shanksville havent been deemed out of commission.

A Plane did hit the pentagon, it was going so fast that it discinigrated most of the plane. It was a poor comparrison for a small plane and a 757 hitting light poles. not much can stop a 757 going 600mph, certainly not a light post.

Review the facts

Size of 757 matches the initial size of hole in the building - somewhere between 13 and 16 feet (757 is 13 feet wide/high)

Rims found in building match those of a 757

Small turbine engine outside is an APU

Same engine has been clearly stated to not match a Global Hawk engine

Blue seats from 757 laying on ground in photos

Part of "American" fuselage logo visible in more than 1 photo

Engine parts photographed inside match a Rolls-Royce RB211

Structural components photographed in wreckage match Boeing paint primer schemes

Large deisel generator in front of building hit by a large heavy object

Large deisel engine outside is spun towards the building - could not be result of bomb blast or missile explosion

Multiple eye witnesses say they saw an airliner

Multiple eye witnesses say they saw an airliner hit the Pentagon

60+ bodies, matching the passenger list and flight crew roster identified and returned to families from Pentagon wreckage

I watched a documentry by the discovery channel explaining why the world trade centers colapsed. It was scientificly proven that the I beams didnt have the right support and the bolts werent strong enough, so all the i beams in the middle would have collapsed leaving the world trade center to fall straight down, which it did. I'll ry and find a link. I watched this 2 years ago in 8th grade.
