I would hope that everyone will be with us in 113. I know that some people were already planning on sitting in a different section, but hopefully everyone who wanted to sit with the supporter's section will be in 113. We need as many people as we can get to make the goal of filling the whole section up so we can get the discount.
Hmm, I can understand why the organization wants to have just one section devoted to the supporters club when there's no guarantee that enough people will sign up to fill it up... but having it in the lower level AND making it available at a discount ONLY with the full season package really prices out some people who would like to be part of the group at games, likely including me. Even with the discount you're still talking about $700 for two seats for the whole season ... when for financial, family, babysitting and travel reasons we were hoping to purchase a half-season package for about $340 (or less) and still be able to sit with the group.

More than a few situations like this could potentially cut down on the 100 mark. Without finding/looking at the other thread, how many seats are in 113?
How about this, MBean et al: get your seats for 112 or 114, and "migrate" yourselves across those narrow stairways separating those sections from 113 during the games? Or alternatively (and ideally!), 113 does fill up with season tix holders, and the Texian Army begins its inexorable annexation of the surrounding sections, starting with 112 and 114 - and you?
Of course, that still doesn't help with any potential discount... My head hurts from too much thinking now.

Is there a reason we went with 113 instead of 112?

I agree with Fordjford. You could sit in better priced seats and just move over and hang out...My friend Jeff and I are sitting in 109, but we are planning on hanging out w/the group. I'm thinking it could be pretty laid back at Robertson but I could be wrong.

Hey guys, I've got a few friends together and we're trying to put together a support group called Sam Houston's Army. Its goal is to support the Houston franchise and flaunt our Texan Pride and heritage.
So I'm asking how should we go about getting tickets? I'd be able to get season tickets, but Im wondering how to ensure I get in the support section, 113 right? and how do I get this discount?
We're just getting started and organized now, but we do have a group set up on myspace, http://groups.myspace.com/viva1836

Have you asked all of the elected officers where they are sitting? You might be surprised with the results.
You know I'm in the supporters section for sure!
Also, I am waiting on AEG to get back with me about a discount beyond this 113 quota goal they have laid down on us. I think quotas are bullshit. AEG has had our collective moeny in the bag ever since December 16th. After all this political crap and having to rename a voted on name, we the Supporters who are die hard, are still putting our money where our mouth is.
I can assure you sports fans that I have asked for them to be more reasonable on the Endline ticket prices. This is our first year and I understand MBean and others that have a budget to adhear to.
I've said to them $12 for the 12th Hombre. Vamos a ver!

I have no idea where my seats are - but I thought we'd be in 112 behind the goal. 113 isn't far off, but what's going on with 112?

It is going to turn into a GA free for all anyway, so you are good!

If all goes well I'll be getting two half-season tickets in section 213 (hopefully second row)... just waiting on an email now. Would have liked to get in with section 113 - but it was just too expensive even with the discount that's not guaranteed and we wouldn't make all 20 games anyway. Will probably be buying some individual tickets to go with the package as the season progresses once we see how everything goes.

Yes its 113 or 213 for sure. If price is an issue, which I feel very strongly about, than PM me and we can see if the 213 section can be given a greater ammount of AEG love.
I do not feel very comfortable with our 113 section having to meet a certain quota for us Die Hards to get a break on ticket prices. We as stock holders in AEG's business need to be given a warm welcome with pricing in Year 1. By Year 5 AEG can make the move to have higher prices but in Year 1 they ought to have the behing the goal sections lower than they are now regardless of a Supporters Section "deal".
If AEG cowers on a team name than it should be a snap to get them to cower on ticket prices! ;)
Bean, I definetly feel you amigo. I'm trying to save up for a house and that little extra cash is a lot. I'm already down to just my 12 year old and me being able to go all 20 home dates. I cannot afford my 8 year old and mi mujer.
Remember sports fans, our Supporters Section is 113 and 213. Don't worry about sitting in 213 and not feeling like a part of Texian Army. Our look by Year 5 should have a mass of humanity in that general area. BE THE FIRST IN THERE! Make the switch there regardless of what deal can be made for Texian Army. We should have die hards from top to bottom in our North End.

I understand about price difference (believe me). If we weren't going to be getting a discount, I'd have to go with 213 as well. However, I think for this first year, we should concentrate on getting everyone into 113. We don't have enough members yet to be filling up both 113 and 213. And there is a very wide dividing walkway between the two sections, which will be hard to get a flag going up after a goal or just to keep the section looking as one. For people like mbean who are just getting some tickets and not whole season packages, it will be okay, because I'm sure you will be able to throw your lot in with us. But for people buying whole ticket packages, I would encourage everyone to spend the additional $40 and sit with us in 113. Just to keep the group as a whole, especially in the first year.
And Celt, I feel you. But AEG has always been about making money. That will not change as long as they are the owners. We can't do anything about it. I'm just happy with have James trying to help us out and get us the discount. AEG could say "no way" and make us be in 213, but I really wanted to be right on the field.

If you're talking about me, you shouldn't be surprised. I believe I've said this publicly at every meeting, including the last one. I think I can add plenty to the supporters club (tailgating, etc) while still sitting in pricier seats that lend themselves better to client development. I've supported the team as much as I can by buying the four most expensive seats in the house. I still plan to be very active in all supporters' activities, and I'm actively trying to help you guys get enough people in 113 to get a price break.

I hear you..my friend Jeff and I are in 109 (our 1st choice.) What can I say...it's near the bathrooms and the bar...what else does one need? ;)
I think we will be close enough to all hang as necessary. plus there will be wandering going on I'm sure.

Um, I don't think I'd be surprised. Only Numero Dos isn't sitting with us, but like he said, he told us at the first meeting. All the rest of the officers are with us though.

Actually I was talking about me. But thanks for clearing that up for all of us Stephen. Us in the North End will be sure to wave at you sitting down in the midfield Club seats. Bloody Mary's and steak sandwiches para todos! ;)
How many around here have actually taken in a Pro association football match at Robertson Stadium? The best seats are at midfield and the lower level, if you want to sit for 90 minutes. However, when standing at your feet for 90 minutes...behind the goal in the upper 200's is where you want to be for the best view. I remember Boca Jrs and Club America back in '02. Right behind the goal in the 213 was where the Xenesies de Boca gathered to sing and chant. It was perfect sports fans!!!
I had the idea that 113 was to be our "Socio" area and that 213 was to be the "Roughnecks" area. James and I have been on the same page on this concept since I first met with him back when 1836 was released at Lanier MS.
The Supporters Section has been and will always be 213 and 113. In case you have not been paying attention, we require those two sections based on the belief that as the first season rolls on, many ticket buying customers out there that have no idea Texian Army exists and don't post here on BigSoccer might migrate to 213 or 113 beacuse that's the atmosphere they were wanting, but had no idea local folks got organized so quickly and created it.
What is not seen yet is all the Nigerians and other African football fanatics, Iranians and other Arabs, South Americans Central Americans like the Sallies and Catrachos who actually follow our U.S. domestic League. These communities in Clutch City as well as other groups that will want to see an Hinchada. Too many new comers into 113 and we have a seat control issue. Plus, the lower section will have people who have purchased seats and they will expect to sit there regardless of what Texian Army wants. In 213 that will be less of an issue as the bench stands will gravitate a more soccer savvy ticket buyer, who will look to stand up and just take in the match.
If anything in Year 1, as I have said since the begining, we will wait and see how things come together in our North End by the 4th of July and mid-season. Than we can adapt to any changes and overcome any unforeseen issues.
