How do you really feel?:p
Out of the respect for the resident conservative, I will bite my tongue. It's probably for the best, as I'll only get angry (which is why I avoid the politics forum altogether).
I will say that I loathe the North Carolina Tarholes 3x as much as Dook, so I'm not relishing the Dook loss at all.

It's not really what he said that upsets me. It's that he said something like this in completely the wrong place. I know the Oscar's are a big place for liberals to spout off, but when you win such a prestigious award you don't need to soil it with your personal opinions of the world. He could have thanked his staff, actors, supporters and such then left. However, he had to go down the long, dark, road to negative town.
My thoughts are if you're gay that's fine whatever floats your boat, but there is no need to go around making a big scene about it. I am not going to like attack you in the street or call you names, so you don't need to walk around making out with each other like anyone cares. If they want to be treated as equals I think they should begin to act as others in a relationship do. Right Howard Zinn?

I take it you were a fan of Syriana?
At least we can agree that the Politics board is an absolute looney bin.

So those eight months I spent in the Iraqi desert during 1990/1991 was not to defend our freedoms (i.e. free speech).
Should free speech be limited to only Ann Coulter and the right wing?
I'm confused why do conservetives ignore the constitution at every possible chance?

How can you ignore the obvious truths that politics and business intersect often with the result being a war under false pretenses?
Name one war that was not driven by economic factors.

I just said I didn't agree with where he chose to say it. I never said he couldn't say it.
Why do liberals love stuffing words into other people's mouths?

What are you on about now? If you're going to get like this I know exactly where this conversation is going:
Me: Operation Iraqi Freedom
You: That was for oil.
Me: What are you talking about
You: The corporations, global warming, blah blah blah.
You know this movie was nothing more than a liberal Hollywood shot at the war in Iraq.

I'm not a liberal. I'm left-wing. Liberals don't have guns, I have alot.
So you don't agree with what the man said that's your right, but he can say it where ever he wants.
Have you ever read the constitution?

Yes, I have read it.
I don't know where your getting that I have no grasp of the Constitution.
I didn't think he should have made that statement where he did. How am I in violation of the constitution?

Please explain how Operation WTF didn't have a underlying economic motivation.
It's clear to me that you don't really understand the subject matter at hand So excuse me if I this comes off as condesending but move out of your parents house and get some life experience before you start talking shit about things you only understand from your Dad's prospective.
Better yet when you turn 18 join the Marines for four years and fight. I guarante that will change your idea about war and who fights them.

Just to toss a point in. I agree with ToonUSA on the point that he can say what he wants (although the man himself is apprently not gay) but it is the same thing (well not quite, and not quite really even close but similiar) to Kanye West during Katrina. There are a place and time for all. I wasn't really upset last night at all TBH, but Kanye was just way off the pitch IMO.

I'm sure Striker would be willing to step to the plate for us in such a bet. I could also offer my facebook picture as part of the deal.

That's a valid point but if that's why he made his movie then why shouldn't he bring that up in his acceptance speech?

I mean like I said it didn't bother me, its *pretty much* the same as the South African guy saying this is for African Viva Africa, etc. So..
