Take a read of the 2 articles on MLS Net about the results of the Revs game and the Galaxy game.
Same result but different spin.
The Revs "missed chance to pull ahead" and "Nicol could only reflect of what could have been as he saw his side come away with a scoreless draw..."
While "Galaxy, Saprissa battle to 0-0 draw" and "Despite looking like a team still in the early stages of preseason - and facing a team that placed third in the FIFA Club World Championship barely two months ago - the Los Angeles Galaxy still managed to scrape out a scoreless draw"
:(
I realize that they are 2 different writers and "This story was not subject to the approval of Major League Soccer or its clubs."
Could it just be that we cold, bitter New Englanders just don't have the sunny disposition of the West Coast?

you have to read it like this:
Revs-played well and had many opportunities...missing some, but showing promise despite being in preseason, and being at an unfamiliar field in Bermuda
LA-looked like crap and had to battle just to get 0-0 at their home field...they are coached by Sampson so Saprissa went easy on them..since they are coached by someone who might be the devil...

I mostly took it the same way... ;)

First off, this is MLS we're talking about so there is ALWAYS a spin doctor in the house.
However, Andrew Hush wrote the Revs piece. He also writes for New England Soccer News I believe. Or is it Soccer New England? Nah, it's most definently the People's Front of Judeah.:D

Nah, its just that people actually expect the Revs to win. You know, with the Revs being a good team and all. Then you have that LA team, who if they manage not to lose is good news for them (even at home). Just a different standard for different levels of teams right now. :D

I think there is a possible response involving their last match played away from home but I'm not going to go there.

Don't they print the Galaxatives media guide in Spanish?
Doesn't it read "Nuestro coche es Satan."

For two teams that have just 'exited' pre-season, why are 0-0 draws where they played the other team (which is in midseason form) more than even, such bad deals? Yes, we could have won the game, but it is certainly a WHOLE lot better than being down 3 or 4 to nothing after the first game. My reading of both games was that the MLS should have earned respect in those games. In the past that would not have happened.
Now, correct me if I am wrong, but can't we now draw 1-1 in the next game and therefore 'win' the series?
I'm sorry, but I think we ARE a bit cynical and bitter and cold. We showed well, we didn't win like we apparently deserved to, but we also didn't lose. That is the game of soccer.

it would go to extra time and then shootout if we draw next week...away goals do not count double
