This lil piece looks interesting, if they give you trouble playing, pause it and let it buffer for 30 seconds then press play :). Never seen this one.

Jefferson Farfan isnot finished yet in Eindhoven

part 1

South American footballers have a name to be unpredictable, egoistic and a little bit lazy. J.F mocks this "tradition".
Also thanks to a relentless working spirit and a great team spirit the Peruvian is at 21 years already the man who makes the difference for PSV. The step to the absolute top is a matter of time. But he willnot be hurried.

Of course Piet de Visser was the man who introduced J.F. with PSV.
Wildly enthusiastic the superscout returned from a tournement in Chile, where his hawkeye spotted the Peruvian talent.
He pickes up the report with which he at that time speeded to Eindhoven.
Pre Olympic games, 9 januari-19 januari 2004, the cover speaks.
Whirling, fast, goal oriented. A character player, who lifted the whole team of Peru to a higher level, Piet de Visser recites his own writing.
I marked the name of Farfan with an asterix. That way PSV knew that the talk was about a very interesting player. The recommendations spurred the club to make the scouts Hans Gilhaus and Hans van der Zee have a look at the little attacker. After they also were convinced by the Peruvian pearl, the transaction was fast concluded.
the rest is history.

In his first season at once Farfan grew into a great promise, a connotation he surpassed in his second year by a mile. He is the undisputed leader of the attack of PSV.
Foquita (little seal) they call him in Peru, but that has nothing to do with his way of play. On the pitch he is anything but silky soft and harmless. Like a hungry predator Farfan roams his territory, on the look out for an opportunity to snatch his prey. That his opponents often are bigger and taller than he is doesnot hurt him a bit. With his powerful body and an iron mentality he makes his way through all barriers.

WTF?

So a tradition of laziness, unpredictability and egotism has gotten South America more glory and better players than Europe. Who would have thought?

Good interview by the way.

No, but I thought the line "Cocu's goal, and the 2-6 for PSV:" kinda gave that away already...

My Gawd, what a srtikers instinct he has. He needs to score no matter what the circumstances, even if on his way down after a foul. That was so cool the ref should've counted the goal and gave him a penalty kick ;)
