Exactly what I would like to see...spot on. If Morientes starts, then someone needs to organize an intervention with Rafa.

Fowler won't play because of an agreement in his transfer.
Don't have a link to a source, but I have read this in a number of places.

D'oh!! You're right...I totally forgot about that.
I guess that probably means we'll be seeing Morientes start.

I dont know if you guys agree, but i thought Nando ran his heart out against benfica. He never really looked that likely to score anyway, but he was effective holding up the ball and he seemed to be usefull to me, in that game. I thought he played a better game than usual, so maybe hes still quite good for europe.
overlooking we lost and didnt score, of course.
edit: oops ot sorry. Hope we beat city but i hope more sissokos ok. since im ot anyway.
carry on, then.

Carragher will be suspended for this match after picking up fifth yellow in the FA Cup win over scum. Perhaps Agger to start in his place?

Yes, no Carragher. Agger has a chance to impress but is he back from injury? Traore would be a bit of a gamble but he may do better there than at left back.

I would rather play cisse than play moro up front,i mean, with all our strking problems,i guess all of them deserve the same amount of minutes on the pitch.

I'll say it again. Just start Cisse for a series of games. Give him 5-8 games to see what he can do. IF Morientes can get that many runs and do so little, then Cisse should get his chance, too.
At least he'll get a fair run of games before we deal him, and we'll (1) know if he's ever gonna cut it and (2) possible increase his transfer value if he gets hot and puts some away (STOP LAUGHING!).
Mind you, i don't think he's the solution to our scoring problems. . . but its clear that nobody else has been and he's got the most upside i'd say.

I don't know why Rafa is so damn reluctant to put him up front. Like you said, it would be different if Nando were scoring goals but he isn't. Right now Cisse is as likely, if not more, to put one away than anybody. Give him a couple games to settle in. Nando's had his chances.

Cisse may deserve getting a start, judging by Morientes' goal-scoring exploits, but Rafa, who bought the latter and not the former, obstinately seems to believe that Cisse is not good enough unless we want to counter-attack. Frankly I'm sure it's something to do with what the manager sees on the training ground which is fair indictment of Cisse's qualities.

I'm going to the West Brom game at the Hawthorns. Anyone know how much tickets might cost if I bought from the hawkers outside the ground?

I, for one, would rather have Baros than Cisse or Nando.

Agger has apparently recovered from that injury scare and will most likley start at the heart of defence with Sami. Time to impress, Danny boy. With Momo's injury, I'd go with this line-up. We're suddenly looking threadbare in the midfield ranks.
----Reina----
--Finnan--Hyypia---Agger---Riise--
--Gerrard---Hamman---Alonso---Kewell
-------Morientes----Crouch--------
Substitutes
Dudek
Kromkamp
Traore
Garcia
Cisse

I, for one, would rather have Baros than Cisse or Nando.Get over it. Baros never had the class (Or the sense of direction to find the goal) to stay at Liverpool....:)
Cisse Nando and Crouch are having trouble finding their arseholes right now I agree. Not only is the bathroom messy but we're toothless.
4:15 KO here....... I'll catch you guys at half time.

Looks as if Stevie will revert (http://www.football365.com/teams/liverpool/story_178268.shtml) to his favoured role in the centre. What chance a variant of the 4-5-1 will be employed?
Also liked this And Benitez admits he smiled when he watched the incidents in Chelsea's Champions League defeat by Barcelona on Wednesday.
After that match, Mourinho accused Barcelona youngster Lionel Messi of diving when Chelsea full-back Asier Del Horno was sent off for a body check on the Argentinian youngster.
Benitez would only say: "You see my smile. You can watch the video of the match and it is easy for me, sometimes you do not need to talk you need to wait. And to smile."

This is going to make right midfield a problem position again. Gerrard has thrived in that role and it solved a lot of our problems. Stevie was able to play in a very attacking role with sacrificing a man up front.
We could play with Didi and Alonso in the middle. However, both players like to sit right in front of the back 4 and that leaves too much space in the middle of the park that Sissoko would normally fill.
The good thing about having Gerrard back in the center is that we can play some great pass and move attacking football. A midfield of Garcia, Gerrard, Xabi, and Kewell will provide us with lots of options going foward. Everyone has skill on the ball and we should be able to keep more possesion and play less long balls.
