Last I saw it was 2-0. If we are losing, I at least hope it's Jason Bay doing the damage.
Actually, after a Canadian inside-the-park-home-run, it's 8-0. Bottom 5 now.

Losing to Canada in baseball is an embarassment no matter what. This would be like Canada losing to Kazakhstan in hockey.

I'd say its more like Canada losing to Switzerland in hockey. Canada does not have a top 5 baseball club, not even close, but for what talent we have at our disposal we're making due pretty well. Also consider that Eric Gagne and Nathan Dempsey opted out, and the best baseball player in our country's history (Larry Walker) retired. I'd say that yes, losing to Canada is embarrasing for a baseball nation liek the US, but it could be worse, you could lose to South Africa, then in which case would be like Canada losing to Kazakhstan in hockey.

USA vs South Africa live now. This is a must win to advance. I have the game on a Cox Sports channel on Cox Cable; you probably have it on an off-channel too if you don't get ESPN Desportes. Flip around and find it. We're already winning in the top of the 1st!!

We're playing a bunch of South African High Schoolers. We damn well better win this game.

Holy crap, its already 10-0? What's the mercy rule set to again? If a team is leading by 15 at the end of 5 innings, or if a team is leading by 10 runs at the end of 7, it's game over. That's what they were saying during the US/Canada game.

I'm slightly disappointed. I'm happy with the result, but I've been raving to the baseball fans that I know: you've gotta watch the WBC, describing the 2 close games I saw -- US/Canada and Panama/Cuba. And then, you know they're tuning in today, yawning at the butt-kicking that I assured them this wouldn't be. Oh well, I'll take the win.

Interesting article to me, not so much for the Bonds' stuff, which is quite obvious now, but the integrity Griffey Jr. showed. It's nice to see that the man I consider to be the best player of his generation actually did it on his own, and was better than guys that were cheating.
