Ya Okie! But your mom was at least kinda/sorta a Braves fan then. You would notice that.

I will check out that website. I think I bought an archived game from them, and it had commercials and it was a little "glitchy" (like the game would pause for 5 seconds and then resume 5 seconds later, so you missed parts of the game -- and it was always the same parts). I wasn't too impressed; but it's better than reading PbP. I might get over my frugality enough to pony up for the season this time. Maybe :p

The three scariest potential words for Mets fans this year--"It's Lima Time".

When I first read that I wanted to punch a baby. Minaya gets a C+ from me so far. Great moves in bringing in Wagner and Lo Duca, kind of lukewarm about Delgado (The guy didn't want to come here last year, and I think his numbers are going to go down in Shea). But he got rid of Benson and Seo, and suddenly Benzel Busch Motors (My old little league team) have a stronger rotation.

How well does this work for you Achtung? How many games do you usually get and how clear do they come through?

I don't really have a team in baseball, but since I'm stuck in a sea of Red Sox fans, I guess I have to support them over other teams. :o
Another thing to consider is doing it the old/new fashoned way and just getting the hometown audios for $14.95 for the every club for the entire season from mlb.com. It's cheap and has that nostalgic feel that most baseball fans get a hard on for. Also, I can run the speaker output through the stereo and listen to Tom Hamilton calling the Indians games from anywhere in my house and can get goosebumps by his best in the majors home run call. I listen to the games so loudly that my neighbors know when a ball has left Jacobs Field.

I'm going to the quarterfinal, semifinal, and final. Of course, as long as the US is in the competition.

I'll watch, although they really should have scheduled it back in November or something. Hopefully this thing picks up and becomes something players want to take part in more.

Could be, but he seems to want to be near his kids and he must already have a couple armored cars full of cash.

Anyone have an insight on where the Rocket will end up?No way he'll move away from Houston now; if he plays this season it will be with the Stros. Saw him on Baseball Tonight the other day; he said he was leaning towards retirement, but that he usually gets on a roll once he starts pitching, so the WBC might warm him up for the season. I hope so. But it wouldn't be bad to have him sitting next to Nolan Ryan as a pitching advisor or whatever in Houston.

I'm still so happy he took us to the big dance last season, he can do no wrong by me. I'm good for the next 2 decades or so :D .

A few million in Red Sox Nation would care to disagree with your assessment of the Rocket's loveability (not myself of course, just sayin).

Seriously though, I've met him a few times, and he seems to be a sincerely nice man. He's a major philanthropist in Houston -- was involved in funding my elementary school for one. Plus he's a legend. What's not to like? :D

And Red Sox fans need to get over themselves. They're not the only ones that have suffered -- look at the Cubs.

Comparing the Red Sox and the Cubs is ridiculous. It's one thing just to pretty much suck all the time.....it's quite another to get really close so often and then have things like Bucky fecking Dent; Bill Buckner; Grady Little happen to you. When the Cubs have a few more incidents like moron fan Steve whatever....then they can talk.

Oh yeah....Clemens is an asshole.....I mean...yeah, I hate Mike Piazza too....but I wouldn't throw the sharp end of a broken bat at him.

Comparing the Red Sox and the Cubs is ridiculous. This is EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Red Sox self-pity and arrogance is ridiculous. "We DESERVED to win and we didn't. Blah blah blah, boo hoo hoo." Get over it. ;)
