Talk about the ultimate .... good and bad scenario. I'm so friggin pysched that the season's about to start (essentially) ... yet I can't watch my favorite team play. Peachy. :(

Game is tomorrow night. Let's get it started!

From Andrew Hush's SNE column yesterday, Parkhurst and Ralston are out for this game. We know Smith is as well.

Starting lineup according to Hush looks like:

-------------------- Reis --------------------
-Riley -- Hernandez -- Heaps -- Franchino-
------------- Joseph -- Dorman -------------
-Noonan --------------------------Lochhead-
------------- Twellman -- Dempsey ---------

I'm hoping 2-1 Revs ... but wishing for 3-0.

------------------ Reis --------------------
- Riley ---- Heaps -- Hernandez -- Franchino-
---------------- Joseph ------------------
------- Dempsey --------------- Lochhead-
---------------- Cancela ------------------
---------- Twellman -- Noonan ------------

Dempsey playing a skinny right mid, Cancela running the offense. I figure that Dempsey should still be good for 2 at his current rate and Twellman to add another 1-2. I would feel so much more comfortable with Parkhurst in there. Call it 4-2 to the "home" team.

Anyone know how good the Revs site will do if hundreds of people try to listen to the stream at the same time :o

I am guessing it will be as wonderful as the team site is now...updated, accurate, easy to navigate and smooth running

remind me of what happend to parkhurst?

think we go to 352 if he's back?

or that this is a 352 w/dh in the middle and reilly at LM?

that would look more like last year.

According to Andrew Hush, Parkhurst has a bruised thigh.

When he gets back, I'm not sure if they'll go to a 3-5-2. There were a lot of comments by Mariner at the MTC regarding a 4-4-2.

Can someone confirm that we will have internet radio for this? Will it be at the Rev website?

Yes and yes. The Revs had noted that on their press release for the Revs/Bermuda match.

The game tomorrow night is at 7pm local time in Bermuda, I believe, which means 6pm here. Referee is Hu Liu from Canada.

The second game is 8pm local time in Costa Rica on March 8. That will have the infamous Peter Prendergrast as the ref.

If the Revs were to win this series, they'd have the right to host game 1 (March 21, 22 or 23) versus either Club America or Portmore United (Jam).

I think I'm missing something on our nats. Why is Nicol putting Clint up top (it didn't seem to work out before) and Pat on the flank? Clint was RM with the Nats, granted in a diamond, and he seemed to do OK. The Noonan - TnT combo is one of the most lethal in MLS, why break it up? Who are they making room for in the middle, Pepe? Do we lack confidence so badly on the LM that we take Pat off the top to fill that gap? Again, what did I miss?

Can anyone find any word about a matchtracker on mlsnet.com or revolutionsoccer.net? I couldn't.

I never followed many games last year on MLSnet but didnt they have some sort of a PbP on the scoreboard. Im ASSUMING they will have it for these games since they tend to cover these tournament games in the past. Who knows though.

I'm guessing that Nicol wants some width to the attack. Noonan seems better at staying wide and crossing, where as Dempsey tends to play in to the middle more.

The Nats provide that width with overlapping backs (Hejduk, for example), while Riley is playing there for the Rev's at the moment. I suspect Nicol wants Riley to stay back more.

thanks for the update...

interesting.

heaps & parkhurst as the central defense? or does DH replace heaps when parkhurst comes back? or does heaps move out to the wing?

i think heaps was good last year because he was not a wing - but a stay home guy on a 3 man back line.

do you sit DH & Cancela in a 442? or drop DH to central back push demps up front?

endless possiblities...

I can 't wait to see them -line ups on paper don't tell much about how the lineup flows...

I see what you are saying Winds350, but, that it not compelling enough to me to make that move. Instruction from Nicol would keep Clint out wide I would think. Besides, in the 4-4-2 we should have enough overlap action to cover crosses. There must be something else...or maybe I just have more confidence in Noonan as a striker than I do Dempsey and Nicol see's it differently. If that's the case, I guess I'll just eat a bran muffin and sit down.

It's a step. I wish they'd have more info ... other than that bit, but such is life. Of course, they didn't mention that this was the home game...

And they've also moved the schedule announcement up so that it shows up on the main screen without having to move up/down. Of course, on the link for "schedule" there's nothing ... baby steps.
