i have seen all the threads about El Pato, i think he can handle the WC, he is experienced and i dont think he will make any big mistakes.
however what do you all think of Villareal's Barbosa? i see him play frequently for Villareal on GolTV and he looks like a high Quality keeper, why hasnt he gotten the call for the NT?
i dont like Lux, all the times i have seen him he just doesnt look all that good.
What do you all think???

ive followed barbosa since banfield his young and really a good gk, he hasnt been getting to much time on villareal but he has matured. he barely make mistakes and can only improve, i think he will be one of our top choices. as for lux i think that in 2-3 years you're opinnion will probably change, also we might be seeing sejas do good in san lorenzo there's another gk to see in a couple of years.

Barbosa played extremely well at Banfield and that's what allowed him to move to Villarreal. Villarreal's ex goalie, Pepe Reina is now at Liverpool. I'm not sure if Barbosa was signed to replace Pepe Reina or to be the second goalie--because soon after Barbosa arrived at Villarreal, Sebastian Viera, a Uruguayan goalie, also arrived. It was rumored that Viera would go to Arsenal (Arsenal of London) but he ended up at Villarreal. Anyway, unfortunately, Barbosa doesn't play now that Viera starts. From what I've seen from Viera, I don't see how he plays over Barbosa. At the least, I would say the two are equals. In my opinion, Viera has trouble catching balls. All he does is punch the ball which provides more opportunities for the attacking team.
The goalies in Argentina, for the national team that is, are a problem. Abbondanzieri is playing like crap, the only thing he does amazingly well is kick the ball. It's incredible, he kicks the ball and it lands right at the feet of a Boca player.
Lux is playing so-so and Leo Franco, I haven't seen to many Atletico games but supposedely they are doing really well since Bianchi's departure.
If Barbosa has any chance of being called for the national team, a) it will be after the world cup, b) most likely, he'll have to be playing a little more regularly.

he's v inexperienced, can't command a starting place at his club, and is prone to error.
having said that, he has a lot of potential and could be a contender for the next world cup.
i know we have goalkeeping worries but it's ridiculous to be suggesting him for the WORLD CUP.
please stop.
